Love visited this beautiful Abbey, the gardens and the canal.

Yes the staff were amazing here, helping us plot our way around this fabulous market town.
However the building where this centre is , is truly magnificent.
So much character and charm.
We left feeling that we had learnt a lot about the town , and along with good literature we continued our tour!

Disappointed by the level of knowledge of the lady who was working here on the day we visited. The museum could not be opened either as she was alone in the shop. She was able to give us information on buses which was helpful.

The staff here were very helpful and pleasant. Local knowledge was freely available and they were happy to offer suggestions in the town and wider county area. A good stopping point for the first time visitor.

Not knowing Tewksbury and the surrounding area at all, we found the Visitor Centre most helpful. The enthusiastic Staff suggested a selection of Guide Leaflets and Maps, allowing us to plan visits to places of interest.

Worth popping in to see building. the staff are really helpful and had a bus timetable. Having trouble about 100 charcters as thats all there is to say.

For a small heritage centre it has a really interesting number of exhibits. No, it isn't a massive, commercial style experience, but it is thoughtfully done and provides a great insight into the building and town. You won't spend hours going round it, but you will feel your time was well spent.

We visited on a Friday and purchased the heritage walks leaflet from the very disinterested staff member. We spent some time in the shop while she pretty much ignored us. She could have easily understood we were new to Tewkesbury and had every opportunity to tell us what we could do and see. At no time did she mention the heritage centre upstairs. When we returned later and asked about it (having learned it it from the leaflet) it was closed for the day. I asked when it was next open and was told 10 the next morning. We came back at about 11 the next day and were told it was closed for a workshop. What a contrast in the service! The unfriendly person had been joined by a lovely, welcoming lady who couldn't do enough to help. Pity we never got to see the heritage centre though. We've visited the other museums in this town where the volunteer staff were welcoming, informative and actually appeared to care about their customers. I assume that tourist information staff are paid to do their jobs. I work in a customer service based job myself and would be ashamed to offer such a poor service.

We only popped in for some local information and a map but the ladies in the information centre couldn't have been more helpful, charming and entertaining. What a wonderful asset to a beautiful small town!
