Is there parking at the library? Thankyou
No. Further down you can sometimes park in the road for s charge and limited time and there are plenty of car parks in Manchester that are not too far to walk in. It’s definitely worth a visit. I have been a few times and still amazed by it all.
I am planning to bring my daughter this weekend, she loves libraries, she is 7, is there an area with children's books to sit and read once we have looked round? Thank you
Sorry I’m really not sure? It’s part of the University of Manchester, so not aimed at that age group but they are very welcoming and I would certainly recommend the venue, your daughter will be in awe! I’ve taken my to all manner of library over the years, she’s now completing an MA in Manchester
Can students come and study here or is it more of a museum?
Hi. We have two reading rooms and both are now areas where people doing their own study can come - you don't have to read our collections to use our reading rooms. We've listened to requests for a quiet space and hope you find the kind of space you need to help with your studies. Please ask any member of the team. Thanks. Yvette
Hi does the library have a coffee shop ??
Hi Magshiel at the moment we don't have a coffee shop. We are reviewing our service and planning to re-open it in the next few months. There are lots of places to enjoy refreshments nearby and we can advise you when you visit.
Hi, hawaayman. What would you like to know about this attraction?
Hi, You can find a map and address on the main TripAdvisor page, or visit here the official website (no html links allowed here) on how to get to the Library. Once inside, although I didn't find a map of the floor plan, there is a page on the official website telling you what is on each floor - select "visit us" and then "floor plans" . I remember it being very easy to find my way around. Although there is no museum per se, there are exhibitions on level 1 and also some information boards all along the Historic Reading Room. Hope I helped.
Hi. Are the public allowed to take photos of the interior side of the building? Do we need to register or something? And also.. may I know if the library opens on next Monday 17th April 2017? Thanks!
