Who would have thought that Biarritz is home to a museum dedicated to Asian arts, a gem featuring exceptional pieces. It is far from the great national museums but frankly, the visit is worth it. The quality of Collections, the very intimate aspect of the museum that reminds us of 19th century universities, are worth a visit.

Very interesting museum with 2 large well-completed rooms and an annex ,very welcome explaining the course, scanner for Audio Guide with mobile or booklet

A fascinating collection of artifacts from India Nepal China and Tibet. Well worth a visit if you have travelled in any of these countries. The audio guide (free with your mobile phone) provides useful information about the displays but needs updating as some references have no commentary and some are in French even if you have selected English.
I would liked to have learned more about how the collection was brought together, clearly a labour of love.

Extraordinary pieces, a collection that represents the work of a lifetime.
Extensive explanations, both in hard copy and, partially, by audio guide.
Possibility of in-depth analysis on various topics through additional paper material available (tables and chairs in the rooms for consultation).
Admission 10 EUR.
Staff at the entrance very kind.
However, the collection deserves a better collation, in terms of rooms and brightness, to be fully enhanced.
In any case, a beautiful discovery (I had not heard of this museum before going to Biarritz), which is definitely worth a visit if you are interested in Asian art.

Very beautiful private collection on Asian Arts organized by geographical location of the works.
A free smartphone audio guide is available; a very detailed written guide completes the visit for those who wish it.
Entrance is 10€ and the welcome is really friendly.
The setting hosting these collections, outdated and unsuitable, does not give thanks to these works which deserve, by their unique character for some, to be better highlighted.
Certainly, this unique building has a history of its own (old building which housed telecom cables in order to cool them in the basement which was then a swimming pool) but it is cold and damp with anachronistic decoration and completely out of step with the words it contains.
Also note, a cleanliness which leaves something to be desired, notably with all these uncollected incense ashes, which accumulate and give a neglected appearance.
Thus, the content, exhaustive and very well documented, is very interesting but the form should not be neglected.

We went here when it was raining. Lots of interesting asian works of art to see and it was all laid out very well. It was well worth going.

If you’re anyhow into Eastern culture, this little gem will take your breath away. Absolutely loved it! Two floors of amazing expositions, one completely dedicated to Indian culture, another to Nepal, China, Tibet. Stunning pieces of art, unique examples of amazing craftsmanship, lovely organised stands.
We were given printed guides in English, which helped to get more info about the exposition, but would appreciate also an English description of each piece duplicating French labels, im one of those people who do read them :)
We’ve spend there around 1,5h but i could spend more if on my own and not rushed by my friends :) loved it!
