We did a full day tour with Safari Tours, just my husband and myself, and it exceeded our expectations. Thomas was wonderful, exceptionally knowledgeable , full of information, explanations and history of the region. He brought everything to life with his passion for wine and his desire to share that love of wine with us. We learned a lot and tasted 21 different wines. Of course we wanted to purchase some, and Thomas was very helpful in this endeavor. We were so pleased to have been able to taste so many premier crus and even a couple of Grand Crus. Thank you, Thomas, for giving us a perfect day and one we will never forget.

We booked Tour 5 Cote de Beaune (4 hours 2 wineries 12 wines) which also included some insight into production, vine management and history. We enjoy wines but are by no means wine buffs and so we learned a lot in a relaxed way, and enjoyed the whole experience, from seeing the vineyards and villages, learning about the climats, and the appellations. Maxim was an excellent guide and is a wine professional, devoted to the subject! He was a considerate host and we had the good fortune of being the only two on a public tour, making it our own private tour and allowing him to cater for our interests and to work at a good pace. 4 hours is a good time for this tour. The wines were all excellent and interesting, with startling variety even in a small selection, and included premier cru wines at both wineries, and we bought three (very reasonably priced given they were premier crus) bottles to take home. Friendly, accommodating service. Transport directly outside the Porte Marie de Bourgogne as described, opposite the Ibis. Comfortable a/c VW minivan. Wholly recommended and excellent value. Thank you Maxim.

Excellent vineyard tour and wine tasting around Beaune. Pauline, our guide, was brilliant and very knowledgeable about everything to do with the area, vineyards, wine making and the wines themselves. We learnt alot. The van taking us around was very nice, comfortable and with excellent air conditioning. We tasted a number of wines at the end of the tour which was great, plus we had the opportunity to buy the wines we had sampled. Overall, it was a well worth and brilliant experience. I would definitely recommend using Safari Tours and will use them again on our next trip.

Charles & Jeremy did a fantastic job of guiding our tour, as we researched our family history. We would very highly recommend them; they were a great team! We have wonderful memories of France to take home, in no small part to their efforts - Thank You!!

Maxim provided us with an excellent 1/2 day tour of the Cote de Beaune. Firstly his knowledge and explanations were perfectly tailored to us (private tour) and the two wineries we visited were quite different with excellent tastings. On top of this Maxim made sure we had somewhere to eat after tour with a reservation and ensured there would be room for our bags, even helping us with the bags. We couldn’t have asked for more - a great experience.

Very nice experience with Maxime on a wine tour. He was able to give very complete and technical explanations on the Burgundian vineyard and its climates, all accessible and pleasant in the grand cru plots. The tour ended with a tasting with his experience as a confirmed taster! Wink to Maxime: thank you for revising my rusty English 😉

We were a group of 4 and did two afternoon vineyard visits/wine tastings - 29th April and 1st May. Very well organised. The knowledge of our guides concerning wine-making and the wines themselves was very impressive. All very informative. They were on time for both of our pick-ups at our hotel in central Beaune and the vehicles were well presented and spacious.

Our family did the all day private tour with Charly in the Cote de Beaune/Cote de Nuits and it was the best wine tour we have ever done! From the start of the day until the end, Charly explained so much to us about winemaking, soil and the Burgundy Region and answered any question we had!! We went to three wineries, with Charly selecting certain wines for us to taste and further our learning. We also went to a local restaurant which was fantastic. Great day, don't wait to book in this tour. Thanks again!!

I confirm the very good overall rating. Charlie is a true professional, who does not count the time he spends with his clients. We learned a lot during this visit/tasting through lots of anecdotes and details. Really GREAT!! Thank you Charlie for your kindness! Armelle and Patrick

I’ve been in the wine industry for 20 years and have gone to countless wineries hosted as a wine professional (including this trip).
My GF and I booked the Cote de Nuits Tour with Thomas and the Cote de Beaune Tour with Stephan. We did it because it was over the weekend when most wineries were closed and frankly wanted the “touristy” Burgundy experience of driving through the vineyards. I expected to see major touristy wineries and tastings to include basic village wines and maybe 1-2 Premier Cru’s, certainly no Grand Crus. I was VERY wrong.
I don’t know how Safari Tours does their business, as I expected them to be a basic cookie-cutter tour. However, it felt like each tour was personalized and customized to their guests. I got exactly what I wanted in seeing Romanee Conti, Clos du Vougeot, La Tache, Echezeaux, Chevalier-Montrachet, etc (all the big hitters), but we also tasted at small, family-run wineries, frankly ones in 20-years in the industry, I haven’t even heard of before. Each day had a Grand Cru (in our case Clos de Vougeot and Corton-Charlemagne) and maybe even more Premier Crus than village wines.
The guides are local and so knowledgeable that I felt I learned more from each of these tours than each year of being in the wine industry. The wines alone were worth the cost of these tours.
