We had the pleasure of the food tour with John-Paul and Julie. They are a lovely couple and great hosts. We were taken on a tour around Montmartre. We had a great time, top notch cheese, charcuterie and wine. The last stop was impressive. As a wine aficionado they really impressed me with their knowledge of local organic wines. I would highly recommend this tour.

The whole family lived the food tour with John-Paul and Julie. It will definitely be the highlight of our trip. The small groups and personal touch make it unforgettable. Thanks again!!

This tour was a great, very efficient way to experience French food and wine with a most hospitable guide, John Paul. The tour featured three scheduled stops in the Montmartre neighborhood of Paris which were hand-selected by John Paul based on their representation of French cuisine and the relationships that John Paul has curated with the businesses. Each course (one at each stop) was thoughtfully paired with wine, with the exception of the last stop, which was paired with cider. As equally as impressive as the food was John Paul's knowledge on the French food and wine scene, as well as the history of the Montmartre neighborhood. In addition to the tour, John Paul went above and beyond by providing a list of his personal favorite Paris restaurants, cafes, wine and cheese shops, and more (I did select a restaurant for dinner from his list, and it ended up being one of my top two favorite meals on my trip!).
In summation, this was a small, intimate experience of French culture that provided a nice break from the more cliche tourist experiences, and the guide was as genuine and accommodating as one could hope for. I just wish I had more time to experience the other tours that he offers. I highly recommend this tour.

This is my second tour with John Paul and it was just as wonderful as the first! The food stops are always perfect and filling, you will never leave his tour hungry! The wine choices I love and John Paul is so knowledgeable of the wines. The walking history is just an added bonus. Do not hesitate to book this tour. I have done tours all over Europe and others in Paris even.... but none ever compare to this one. It’s the one I measure all others against and they just never surpass John Paul’s. I will absolutely book a third next year with this company, it’s always a highlight of my trip!!!

This was our second tour with John Paul in 2 years. Julie wasn't able to make it this time but he held his own:) He knows great food and we ate at some amazing restaurants. His culinary tour includes peppering in fun facts about Monmartre and the famous artists who lived there. Definitely worth booking a tour with him. We'll certainly be back on our next visit to Paris.

It was great to hear John-Paul's perspective on what life is like in Paris today, some of the history of the Latin Quarter, and tips for finding the good wine and food (and avoiding the bad stuff). John-Paul is the definition of a people person, telling us really fun stories about exploring wine regions and hanging out with winemakers. He has a very natural approach where you're kind of just hanging out and enjoying a good conversation with a connoisseur. Really fun way to spend an afternoon. Highly recommended.

My brother-in-law booked our family for a tour with John-Paul and his wife Julie and it was wonderful. Their knowledge coupled with their enthusiasm and passion made the evening fly by in a relaxed and comfortable setting. Everyone in our family had an outstanding experience and I would highly recommend this for an alternative evening experiece in Paris.

One of the things my wife and I love to do on trips is to take a food tour. We've done it in places like San Juan , PR, Charlotte NC, Frederick MD..to name just a few. So of course we're not going to do one food tour in Paris...we did two. Both with Culinary Tours of Paris. One in Montmartre, the other in the Latin Quarter. John-Paul was our guide for both
As we have so much experience with food tours there are things I like on a tour.
I want to hear some history of the area. I want the food experience to be paired well with the area. I want a tour guide the in engaging and responsive and not just working from a tight script.
John-Paul was amazing on this tour and he checked off all my wants. He's super knowledgeable about the areas we walked through giving us history and more about the area. Answering whatever questions we threw at him. The food on the tour was some of the best we had in Paris. He picks great restaurants and great wines. His expertise on wines was incredible. And he was just a great guy to hang out with. In Montmartre, John-Paul went out of his way and walked us up to Sacré-Cœur even though the tour had technically ended.
Something I especially liked is that the day after the tour, John-Paul sends a email with all the details of the tour including the names of the restaurants, food and wine. That's a great touch that i really appreciate.
I can;t recommend Culinary Tours of Paris enough (my cousins are visiting Paris in the fall and we encouraged them to take at least one tour. I hope they listen. They'll have a great time)

If you want to spend 3 or so hours enjoying Montmartre, eating fabulous food, drinking excellent wines, and enjoying lively and entertaining conversation with John Paul (aka JP) and his wife Julie, then by all means make arrangements to go on this tour. The two of them go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home as you stroll down tree lined streets, listening to JP talk about local history while Julie throws in the occasional tidbit and giggles a lot. You really do get the flavor of the local area.

My kids gave me this tour for Christmas, as they knew John-Paul from High School (small world!) He is a very personable and knowledgeable guide who lives in the area and knows so many interesting places to explore.

Hello Jodi,
Thank you for inquiring about the Montmartre tour!
There are some hills on this tour, so it depends on how comfortable you are with it. If you are worried about the walking on this tour, here is what I propose:
-Between the first and second restaurant, we will be walking uphill, and I don't really see much of a way around this. However, the distance between the restaurant is relatively short (950 feet or 290 meters), so I think it will take no more than 10 minutes to get there. We will stop to talk about a couple of things along the way.
-For the part between the second and third restaurant, we can call a taxi from the second restaurant to have it take your travelling companion to our third restaurant. We typically walk about 20-25 minutes between the restaurants, and a part of this segment is uphill, though part is flat and downhill.
-We finish the tour at the base of Sacré Coeur, and as there are stairs and a funicular (tram) to go up the front of the hill to the church, I like to give everyone a ticket to take the funicular up to the top of the hill as it offers a splendid view of the city.

I'm interested in the Monmartre tour (2nd week of July 2019) but just can't find out how much it'll cost per person - so we can plan our budget.

Our Montmartre tour is currently at 110 Euros per person. This includes all of the food and drink on tour.

I've taken tours with them in the past and the price is based on which tour you book. If you email them they typically return the email within 24-hours if your in the United States. They are also on Facebook.
