Don't go with your children! A guard jumped on us even as we watched quietly. Welcome child 0, adult welcome 0, no friendliness, what a pity I am from the neighborhood I recommend it not to all parents and schools.

Great little sculpture museum - free. Cafe on first floor. Lots of sculpture indoors and out. Interesting if you like art.

Great free museum near Tour Montparnasse. Big size sculptures from Antoine Bourdelle a Rodin collaborator. The museum is mainly in the ground floor and around two gardens. ‘The archer’ was probably his most significant and internationally recognised sculpture. Some of the works are really expressive, exaggerating features to add drama. I also recommend the little restaurant upstairs for a light lunch or coffee. Temporary exhibition like the current Rodin & Bourdelle corps a corps are not free but probably worth seeing. Educational & pleasant. Easily you can spend a couple of hours at leisure if you like the arts.

Located near Montmartre station, the Musee Bourdelle was the studio of one of “France’s greatest sculptors” but to me the museum sure didn't convey that. It seemed very poorly designed. He was a philanderer and enjoyed painting his muses but his paintings were of questionable skill. The garden had several of his sculptures and I liked them; I wish there had been more emphasis on his sculpture. Overall the museum - and him - left me bored. Good thing it was free!

Very nice museum next to Montparnasse station. The statuses outside are magnificent and gigantic. We can stay there for hours because the garden is nice. Small bonus, there are seats available to enjoy the garden.
Only downside, very bad reception in the rooms and complete search of bags. It's the first museum where the security guard opened all the pockets of my backpack in addition to the security gantry. Just because of that, it doesn't make me want to go back. It gives an unpleasant atmosphere. Too bad.

The Bourdelle Museum, near the Gare Montparnasse, is a small haven of peace nestled in the heart of the capital.
Everything breathes serenity and above all, beauty.
Because it is above all the place of exhibition of the works of the talented sculptor Antoine Bourdelle.
One can also discover his studio and it is deeply precious and touching to imagine how the artist exercised his art.
Superb monumental sculptures in a green setting: sumptuous.

Beautiful works of sculptural art await you in this delightful (and free) museum. Plan on spending at least one to two hours exploring Antoine Bourdelle's works. The Rhodia Cafe, located on the premises, offers healthy menu options and friendly and efficient service. We visited the museum on a Friday. (It is closed on Mondays.)

I visited this museum in the early 2000s. He was handsome but "in his juice." Two decades later, dusted without losing his soul, he presents a rich collection of magnificent works, devoid of superfluous chichis. Indoors and outdoors, in a lush garden, each is self-sufficient. A marvel!
Clear explanations guide the curious visitor to better understand each. The contemplative visitor can ignore them and just marvel.
Finally, a space explains and shows the realization of a sculpture, from the idea of the Contributor to the realization of the cross-country skier and the final patina.
Bourdelle is less known than his contemporaries Rodin and Claudel, wrongly: his sculptural and pictorial works are magnificent of expressiveness, without ostentation.
