Our private tasting tour of Left Bank food emporiums was expertly and enthusiastically led by Marion Cazes. A true foodie, Marion opened our palates and minds to all the culinary diversity innovation, and history that go into creating the best France has to offer in croissants, cheeses, chocolates, baguettes, wines, restaurants, and more. These yummy indulgences were tempered by walking from shop to shop. Can’t say enough good things about the tour itinerary and the expert staff working to ensure a memorable French food experience.

We had a fabulous time on the Left Bank group food tour. Our guide Marion was very knowledgable and friendly- we learned so much about French food! We visited a bakery, a cheese monger, a chocolate shop, a patisserie and finally a wine shop, where we tasted all the treats we had collected, paired with wines. Everything was of course delicious. It was also really fun to meet other people on the group. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Paris.

Our food tour of the Left Bank with Faye was a highlight of our trip to Paris. For anyone on the fence I would say it was definitely worth the money as we learned so much about the area near where we were staying and go to try so many different types of wine, cheese, and sweets we would have otherwise never tried. Faye was such a fun guide who was quite funny but also so knowledgeable at the same time. She was also so helpful even after the tour as we texted her for a recommendation on where to go for dinner and she got back to us super quick with a great spot. All around a 10/10 experience!

Our guide, Stephen, lead a thorough, fun, and informative walking tour. And then, of course, there was the great tasting of cheese and meat and wine and chocolate and pastry!
Stephen engaged all of 7 participants and shared his incredible knowledge and passion for the people who make such amazing food available.
Thanks too for showing so much of the neighborhood that I had been in, but not seen the stores we visited (except the grande epicerie).
My congratulations to Paris By Mouth for creating a terrific concept and having a partner as talented as Stephen.

Stephen was a wonderful and informative tour guide. He was extremely patient and generous with his knowledge. This was by far one of the best tours we experienced on our two week stay. I would recommend this to anyone who hasn’t experienced a food tour yet. This is a tour that can be done more than once as there is so much to explore. Ask for Stephen!

So much better than expected! Isabelle was our host and she did a fantastic job giving us an education on the history of Paris, foods, etc. She pointed out various buildings and places of interest that would not have been obvious.
The stores she chose to highlight were fantastic. We ended up at the wine shop where we had wine tasting with our finds for the morning. Fantastic pairings & wine, as well.
The group was kept small, which was perfect.

My wife and I visited Paris in Dec '24 and this was truly one of the highlights of our trip! We took the tour on our second day and then we were able to go back to all the amazing spots later in our trip. Our guide, Victorine, was super knowledgable, considerate, and lovely. She showed us some cheeses that we are *still* talking about a month later. Not to mention it was so helpful to have access to the Paris By Mouth Substack that came in handy before the trip in finding great restaurants to make reservations at. Next time I go back to Paris I'm definitely doing another tour in a different area!

We visited Paris for our anniversary, the left bank tour with Paris by mouth just might be the highlight of our trip. It’s one thing to identify good places to eat, it’s another thing to know the history behind them and what made them unique and successful. Neil was so engaging and entertaining. He’s incredibly well traveled, and his knowledge base is very broad. He has a unique ability to connect with just about anyone. The conversation and knowledge acquired was at least as good as the excellent food we had. Highly recommended. Thank you Neil.

We knew we wanted to do a guided food tour and so glad we chose Paris by Mouth for the N. Marais guided tour. It was the perfect way to kick off our family vacation. Faye was incredible and was super accommodating to all of our dietary restrictions in our group. We tasted the best baguettes, croissants, chocolates and caramels, charcuterie, cheeses, and wines. She was very informative and entertaining as we discovered hidden gems in the N. Marais. Highly recommend!

Our food tour with Paris by Mouth was a highlight of our time in Paris. Despite the rain, wind, and cold, our guide, Deniz, managed to keep us engaged and excited about visiting some of the best artisan chefs in the Marais (especially the MOF fromager). Despite the no-kids guidance given, we brought our two children (ages 17 and 13) along for the tour, who both have sophisticated pallets and an interest in food and pastry. Deniz made them feel included and challenged them to explore new things. While anyone would enjoy this tour, I think it is best suited for serious foodies or those with a love or passion for French chocolate, patisserie, and cheese. It is equally suitable for professionally trained chefs or other food industry personnel. Strongly recommend!

I don’t know how to choose which tour to take. Do they all have similar menus? I am a pescatarian, so I don’t want a tour that has a lot of meat.

Perhaps I'm tired as I write this, and I missed it, but does the price of the tour include the food that is brought to the final stop? Both the descriptions on Trip Advisor, and on the website imply that, but do not state that explicitly.

Hi, we don't drink alcohol (wine) and don't eat pork. Is there still enough for us to eat on the tour? Or do you think we'll miss out on quite a bit? Thanks.

Sorry for the delayed response as we are still traveling. Great question! There are quite a few good options available and if you were to let them know about any allergy and/or food restrictions, they will accommodate (I think the question was asked on the enrollment form). If fact, our guide confirmed that fact again before we began our tour. There are a variety chocolates, pastries, cheeses and other “goodies”. When it comes to the meat varieties, there is beef in addition to pork. Regarding wine or alcohol, it’s not required because water is offered. I would say just let them know during enrollment and have a great time! Enjoy the tour!

Hi, I am looking to book a tour for my husband and me. My husband is allergic to eggs, and I was wondering if this tour would be appropriate for him. If we were to do it, which tour has least amount of egg exposure? Will there be any substitutes or discounts given that he may not be able to have most egg-exposed/included items?

Yes, this tour would be appropriate for him. They will tailor to make sure that your husband has a good experience. There is very little egg food items on the tour. Just speak to the guide at the start of the tour.
My wife has many dietary sensitivities and enjoyed the experience.
