Gothic style roman catholic cathedral which is a must if you are in Montpelier. There are guided tours, but you will be fine also by yourself.

Very impressive and beautiful church, with a large number of altars and rich in very beautiful works of art. Inside there is also an interactive screen that gives some information about the history of the church and paintings.

All tastes are in nature... There is nothing magnificent about this church, it is even somewhat banal from an architectural point of view. In its defense, it was not originally intended to become a cathedral, but the church of a monastery. That said, between the center and the Jardin des Plantes, it constitutes an almost obligatory passage, with its curious and imposing canopy under which the entrance is hidden.

The cathedral at first looked simple from the outside, but then I looked at the curves and arches and was amazed at the construction. The inside was beautiful and peaceful and holy.

Saint-Pierre Cathedral is a Catholic cathedral in Montpellier. It was originally a chapel in the 14th century, as the cathedral has been known since 1536.
Damaged during the religious wars of 1561 - 1567, in 1629 it was restored by order of Cardinal Richelieu. In 1855 - 1875 it was reconstructed.
Since 1906 it has been a historical monument.

Magnificent cathedral, with a rather particular and remarkable style. The organ is magnificent, and many free concerts are offered during the summer.
A small, pleasant garden is attached to the cathedral, ideal for relaxing in the fresh air.

Particularly pretty when the sunlight comes through the stained glass and "colors" the columns. Worth a visit but be aware of the climb up and down (if you are coming from the center of town) to get to it - fortunately there are railings available to make your way down to the cathedral - I would not want to try it on a rainy day, even with those railings. Note that the closing time (it was 1700 when we were there) is taken strictly, so be aware of that as well when you plan your visit.
