It's simple a perfect experience. What does a bike tour guide is expected of, it's provided. Things like a well planned route, map on computer, onsite support including nutritions, etc. What you don't expected to get are also prepared and provided: decent accommodations, friendship, challenges, you name it. Hustle free and the best experience out of it, and I'm thankful. For sure the bike and the fitness are not included though.

I have done cycling trips with 44 5 since their very first trip back in 2014. I have travelled with them 15 times over those years and every trip has been a joy. The roads are wonderful for cycling, especially in southern France and the Cevennes. Accommodations and food are first rate.
This is a small owner operated tour company. Gerry Patterson is the founder, owner, logistics expert and chief guide. He usually has another guide along and they are all great, very friendly and personable and determined to give guests a first class cycle touring experience.
Whether you want an epic trip through the Pyrenees or Alps, a week in the hidden cycling gem of the Cevennes mountains, or a short 3 day tour that includes a climb up Mont Ventoux, you will not be disappointed by 44 5. I'll be back next year for trip number 16!

My experience with 44/5 Tours over 3 days for the 2023 L'Étape in July was truly outstanding. Right from the outset, communication was exceptional, and Gerry and John's were always in hand to help out in anyway to make sure I was ready for the big day. The accommodations provided were top-notch, and the chef prepared excellent food for the group each day.
The transfers were incredibly smooth, and collecting the race pack and transportation to the start line were equally seamless. With everything expertly taken care of, my only concern on the big day was enjoying the ride. I can't emphasize enough how highly I recommend 44/5 Tours, and I'll eagerly return next year if the opportunity arises.

This was above my expectations, Gerry and Christian are fabulous at organizing and guiding this tour. Great hotels, food and local knowledge
My wife’s luggage was lost by Condor Airlines. Sympathetic to her dilemma they took us into town and waited while she shopped for clothes and necessities. Christian took me to a cool bike shop so I could buy an Italian kit. Those are extras that we really appreciated. Thanks guys
We expect to be back next year and hopefully more beyond

We had Spencer help guide us up Ventoux. He was a great help as the weather was cooler and threats of rain. It really made the climb much more enjoyable knowing he had our back with extra food, water and our rain gear. Plus he knew all the right spots to stop and take some action shots. I would highly recommend them.

John and Gerry of 44/5 Cycling Tours are pros at organizing and managing the tour for their customers. Every detail was taken care of without any issues. The logistics of travel, lodging, dining and extracurricular activities for non-riders and post ride were well thought out and executed flawlessly. The cycling routes in northern Italy they selected were perfect with just enough climbing challenges, while the beautiful landscapes of the Piedmont wine region and Lake Como captured our attention. The rides were well supported, 44/5 was prepared for any need a cyclist would have during a ride.
If you’re looking for a tour group that will provide the best in every aspect of a cycling tour I recommend Gerry and John of 44/5 Cycling Tours, they are pros.

This was my third trip with 445- and John and Gerry delivered, as usual. They go out of their way to ensure everybody has a wonderful time- cyclists and non- cyclists alike. Lodging and restaurant choices are well thought out. If you’re thinking about cycling in France, Italy or Spain, I highly recommend 445. You will have a great time.

This was our third tour with 445 Cycling Tours and John and Gerry did it again. They created another custom tour for our group of 15 participants in northern Italy. While they led and supported the riders through the beautiful countryside of Piedmont and Lake Como, the other non-riders toured on their own. Both riders and non-riders were treated to lavish dinners and lunches and stayed at wonderful, small Italian hotels arranged by 445. The high level of service, food and accommodations were all what we've come to expect from 445 and John and Gerry did not disappoint.
John and Gerry are not just service providers, although they do so on a very professional level, they are like old friends that we see every couple of years. I hope that we can host them some day in our cycling mecca of the Santa Monica Mountains which are close to where we live in SoCal.
In short, if you're looking for a great, very personal cycling tour group, 445 is the one!

We just returned from a bicycle tour in Italy with John and Gerry of 44-5 cycling. This was the second time they have led a tour I have been on with my friends. They are great guys and treat you to a fantastic tour every time. You name it, the riding, the food, the scenery, and the hotels are all first class. The support they give during the rides is great. They have anything you might need on the route in their van and one of them is usually riding their bike to support you from the road in addition to the van.
I would recommend them highly.

Magnificent trip! John and Gerry planned everything to make a perfect vacation. Rides were fun and challenging with beautiful views. The picturesque villages and hotels were truly unforgettable. Fantastic food and wine combined with 15 happy people made every amazing day memorable.
