This canal connects the Garonne River with the Canal du Midi, which begins where the Canal de la Brienne ends. It can be enjoyed on the boats that visit the river or also through the several bridges that cross it. It must be a kilometer long and despite being in the middle of the city you have the feeling of being in the countryside. It is surrounded by green areas. At both the beginning and the end of the canal there are two gates that serve as locks due to the unevenness.

We were staying on a houseboat & loved the peacefulness of the location, despite being in the centre of a busy city.
Great for leisurely walks in the sunshine.

It’s a nice walk but the path could be better maintained. I saw many people out enjoying a sunny lunch time along the canal but the path was mainly mud. I don’t know why the city wouldn’t put down some gravel for the clearly well used path along the canal. It would be better for both locals and tourists alike.

We had read about the canal history, so decide to find this one at the St Pierre end. We did not spot and directional signs, but managed anyway. The walked part of the canal path and it was quiet.

I walked up and down but then in the same canal.. and it was so lovely to see all these all três. This Chanel is so lovely!

My wife and I had a romatic walk along the canal and sat to eat lunch on the banks.
The walking is good and goes to the junction of the canals where there is an interesting mural of child labour.
The walk was enhanced by the dappled sunlight coming through the beautiful trees.

Canal pas très long mais très agréable, bordé d'arbres magnifiques tout le long, ce canal mérite que l'on y passe pour une pause fraicheur en pleine ville!
