De stadspoort is een overblijfsel van de stadsmuur, Het is een staaltje fraai vormgegeven architectuur en heeft een fiere uitstraling. Echt de moeite waard om te gaan bekijken.

This late XVII century "porte" which according to history was built under the reign of King Louis XIV to celebrate his own victories is very nice to look at. It is said to have an Arc du Triomphe touch and the truth is it stands equally proud.

Old structure part which was one of the original gates into Lille. Worth taking a look and some photos. Not much to see otherwise as there's no access to the interior and while there are tall iron gates to protect the interior, it was readily apparent some bums and homeless had climbed over it to use the structure as a shelter and a toilet.
Better efforts should be undertaken to preserve and protect the structure.

Mooie poort, die in vroeger tijden deel uitmaakte van de stadsmuur. Tegenwoordig het middelpunt van een rond plein, vlakbij het stadhuis van Lille.
