Timed the visit with high tide dates - when the Mount becomes an island. Photgraphers' paradise.

I’ve been at Mont Saint-Michel for a week now, and this experience has been truly incredible. Every moment was a source of wonder, a gift. This place is simply extraordinary, with breathtaking landscapes that seem straight out of a fairy tale. The vast stretches of sand, the sheep quietly grazing in the salt meadow, the majestic Mount proudly rising above the bay, and the surrounding marshes create a perfect harmony between land and sea. The people I met were really adorable, always willing to share a smile, a moment or a story. Their human warmth has added a magical dimension to this already enchanting place. I felt a deep connection with the environment, a kind of vibrating energy that enveloped me. This led me to reflect on the presence of a universal force, invisible but yet so palpable. Whether we call it God, the universe or just our intuition, there is certainly something bigger than us, something that Guides and inspires us. During this journey, I asked Mary to keep my heart open to the visible signs of the invisible, whether it be Life or a divine dimension. I also prayed to Saint Michael, asking him by his light to enlighten me, by his wings to protect me and by his sword to defend me. It is fascinating how well these requests have been heard. The quiet moments I had here allowed me to refocus and find answers to questions I had been asking for a long time. This morning, as it rains softly, I sit in a café, a good hot chocolate in my hand, preparing to take the train back. I asked for a sign for certain concerns that were close to my heart, and I had clear answers. It's comforting. Talking to Vincent just now, I realized that these moments of clarity are ways that we human beings have to stay in touch with our intuition, the divine, Life. Whatever we believe in. This trip to Mont Saint-Michel was much more than just a getaway; it allowed me to open up to new perspectives and listen to myself more. Every experience, every encounter, every landscape has enriched my heart and mind. I left this place with a feeling of gratitude and a deep connection to the beauty of the world around me. This adventure will remain etched in my memory, a precious chapter in my personal history 🧡✨

Mont Saint Michel is a beautiful historical place. I am so happy I was able to visit, a bucket list item for me. We left from Rennes at 8:05am and arrived at 9am on train to Pontorson Mont St Michel. Got off train along with 4 others ( we didn’t know) went to bus stop and read no bus on Saturday until 11:30. Luckily the nice German young man called a taxis ( number on a sign) and the 4 of us got a ride for 5e each to the main shuttle stop that took us to the beautiful place. We spoke with driver to pick us up at 2:15 back to train station.
We were happy we got there early because at noon it was packed. (Ordered Abbey tickets on line). We climbed the stairs with bad knees 😂 and grab the hearing guide (a little confusing at first) but glad we spent the 3E for it, spent about 1.5 hours in Abbey. Was great. Coming down we walked through a lot of people heading up and through the shops. But we took an outer upper walk down along nice restaurants and people enjoying the view. Many restaurants were reasonable but we had brought sandwiches and ate later at shuttle stop in town with a beer. Many people walked in the sand because of low tide and walked the 1.5 mile walk back to town. It is a great experience. You have to plan but worth it.
Not a place for young kids, teenagers yes. Hotels in town didn’t good great but I didn’t see the inside.

Enriching visit, magnificent monument steeped in history. Visit in June perfect because not too many people yet and we can move around. Unable to take return shuttles because of endless waiting (not enough vehicles and passage) Exorbitant parking prices for 3h to 17h.
For parents, avoid strollers with too many stairs but favor a baby carrier or have the child walk. A must-visit with a breathtaking view.

Amazing but here is The hack to avoid the insane crowds! Book a hotel ON the Island. We booked at St Pierre and it was lovely. Go late the day of your stay. As crowds filter out you have the island to,essentially, to yourself! Then get up next morning and be at the abbey at 9am for opening and it's like you are the only one there! IF you go during day you will be frustrated by the crowds and the obnoxious tourists that give the rest of us a bad name!

The bay is superb but the abbey is a big scam.
Expensive parking, entrance to the site + if you want to see the prisons it's extra.
And there is a charge for toilets.

While this is an awe-inspiring site, it can be packed with tourists! We sat in traffic to get to parking (which was very well-orchestrated), waited in line for 35 minutes for the shuttle, then made our way to the abbey through hoards of people, sometimes barely able to move. That said, we had advance tickets to the abbey’s English tour and were able to move more smoothly once at the steps to the abbey. The tour was wonderful, the abbey an architectural marvel, and the town less-crowded by the time we came down. It was worthwhile overall, just be prepared for crowds.

Bonjour,
