Less impressive than the cathedral in size but just as magnificent in the Gothic facades and details. The interior is more sober but it overlooks a lovely square, where you like to linger listening to the sound of carriages.

I first saw this church on a Friday. The notice on the door says it's open on Saturday/Sunday/Monday in the mornings till 12 and from 14:00 in the afternoon. I went back at 14:00 on Saturday and waited about half an hour - but it didn't open. While I was there, about another 15 people went up to the door to try to gain access. I went back at about 15:30 and it was still closed - more people were trying to get in then, too. My guide book had recommended a visit so it was disappointing not to be able to get in - and it wasn't just me who was disappointed! The outside of the church is beautiful and I took a couple of photos - it would have been nice to have seen the inside, too, though.

This church is so large and grand looking that you might make the mistake of thinking that you took a wrong turning in town and are back at the cathedral. An easy mistake to make as they are at opposite ends of the same area.
As with so many buildings in Rouen, the main beauty of this church is on the outside, with incredibly intricate stone carvings, and it is well worth taking the time to take it all in before going to see what you can discover on the inside.

This church is located near Notre Dame Cathedral.

Magnificent flamboyant Gothic style building with some historical nuggets inside that should not be missed under any circumstances (open only on Saturday, Sunday and Monday): a rood screen, a Renaissance Gothic style staircase, some original stained glass windows including some from the 15th century and the sumptuous organ.

Fachada no tan impresionante como la de la catedral, pero igualmente muy, muy bonita. Entrada gratuita. Recomendable la visita. Foto muy bonita de la fachada desde la calle adjunta

I am looking for a moderate priced but good hotel between St Maclou church and Notre Dame. We are traveling in November and will only be there for a Saturday night. Are there masses we could attend at Saint Maclou on Sunday morning?

My sister and I stayed at Hotel Ibis Styles Rouen Centre Cathedrale last year. It was a nice hotel, and the price was good. While we didn't go to St. Maclou it looks like an easy walk on the map.
