I highly recommend this tour. My husband and I had an amazing half day with Mathilde, and it was our favorite memory in Aix. Even if you aren't into cooking (such as my husband), there is something in this experience for everyone: she gives a wonderful overview of the history of Aix, explains the culture of the markets, and then submerges you in the culture. We tasted all kinds of different local goods from the vendors while she taught us what to look for and where everything is produced. Then, we went back to her cooking Atelier and prepared our delicious 3 course meal. She made what seems like an overwhelming recipe seem easy (even my husband could do it!) and gave us great cooking tips such as creating flavor. Now, I can't wait to host a Provencal dinner party at home! An added bonus is we had a great conversation like old friends, coffee and rose'. This is the quintessential travel/submerging in another culture experience.

We did a cooking class for two with Mathilde and it was the best thing we did in Aix-en-Provence! She did a great job of weaving in fun history of the area, showed us what to look for in the markets, and of course we made some amazing food in her cooking class (fish, ratatouille, and a chocolate and raspberry dessert). We did it on our honeymoon and it was great for us as a small group experience, but I'm sure she would be excellent with larger groups as well. If you're thinking about it, just do it

Went to a cooking class of Mathilde’s on July 8,2021. It was fabulous! There were 2 Americans (including me) and 3 French. Mathilde did a great job conducting the class in both English and French. We had a great time and learned a lot. Not to mention the food was delicious.

I recently went to a 3 hour cooking class at L’Atelier Cuisine de Mathilde and I cannot recommend the experience enough. Mathilde herself is really lovely and welcoming, and spoke both French and English with me, because I am not yet fluent in French. At the class, we made prawn raviolis, chicken forestière and lemon meringue tart- which is my favourite dessert! The recipes themselves were not too hard to follow and I am confident that I would be able to recreate them at home. I especially enjoyed making and piping meringue onto the lemon tarts, because I had never made meringue before. Mathilde even gave us a blow torch to slightly brown the meringue.
After having made the food, we all ate it together as a group and it was really enjoyable eating and speaking to such a varied group of people. If you are interested in a cooking class in Aix, definitely come here.

Corso di pasticceria estremamente interessante. Mathilde è molto preparata e sa spiegare non solo come fare qualcosa, ma anche perché lo si fa con quel metodo.
Atmosfera molto positiva e rilassata.

My husband and I really enjoyed our cooking experience with Mathilde. She is a very friendly and relaxed person, but totally on top of her program, and speaks very good English. Very organized in her preparation, and clear in her instruction. We extended our appreciation for Aix and provencal culture via her introduction to the history of the town and all the little details of what to look for in the market. Lots of samples to be had by her pre-arrangement. We got home and have been inspired to go to farmer's markets locally, and know what kind of questions to ask now! The cooking class was just plain fun! Not intended as heavy duty serious french cooking class, but still containing plenty of useful prep tips. She had a lovely assistant, Isabelle, who smoothed the way by keeping things cleaned up, and helping out in many ways. After we did all the cooking, the group of 10 of us (Australian, Candian, American) sat down at lovely table, shared wine and stories, and oohed and aahed over what we had just made. It was really a delightful experience, even for my normally not very outgoing husband, and remains a special memory of our time in Provence, among all the other wonderful things we saw and did. Highly recommended. I would do it again any time!

This cooking class was fun and informative. Mathilde is professional but light hearted. The walk through the market was very enjoyable followed by a very short walk back to her cooking studio. The menu for our day was interesting and can be achieved once we get home. Highly recommend

petits bémols : les menus peuvent être modifiés après avoir réservé et ensuite lorsque l'on est occupé à préparer un atelier d'un côté (dessert), on n'entend pas l'explication qui peut être faite sur un autre atelier pour une préparation différente (entrée).
Mon inscription par bon cadeau n'avait pas été validée par internet (pb informatique) et venant de loin, Mathilde a gentiment accepté de me prendre malgré le nombre (10 au lieu de 9) mais j'ai su pendant les 3h que j'étais l'élément de trop.

Merci pour votre feedback sur le cours de samedi. Je suis désolée d'apprendre que vous vous êtes sentie l'élément de trop, ce n'était absolument pas intentionnel, je souhaite au contraire que tout le cours se déroule dans une ambiance chaleureuse de partage autour de la cuisine.Je souhaite aussi rectifier votre premier commentaire, les menus ne sont pas modifiés après inscription, en revanche, les premiers à s'inscrire, peuvent modifier un élément du menu par flexibilité de ma part, et le nouveau menu apparaît ensuite sur le site pour les prochains à s'inscrire.
J'ai été ravie de vous accueillir à l'atelier. Mathilde
