After several very happy summers spent at the Sporting, I was sad to find it is no more and the property is now under new management. Fortunately, Remi, the absolute star player of the Sporting's beach team, has not gone far and is now working at the Ruhl Plage, a little further along the Promenade and welcoming guests there with his usual unflappable good humour, wit and charm.

We went to PLS twice as our hotel had a reduced rate here (22 euros per person for the day for a transat, parasol, and towel, vs. 32). That said, we somewhat preferred the Lido next door which we went to more often because we prefer it and it's a little bit less pricey. However, Le Sporting is also very nice! One cannot complain when you have the opportunity to relax at a lovely beach club in Nice on the Riviera! Sure beats any Atlantic coast beach in the US.
One highlight of PLS is the petit dejeuner - the omelette was amazingly perfect and one of the best we've had in France ever.
It is worth the extra money for a front row transat, which is the only way you really get to enjoy the ocean view with the sun sparkling on the water.

We came here because our hotel had a 'special' rate.
The prices for a chair (additional for towels and anything else) were not worth it.
The beach was crowded, and smoking is prevalent -- so don't expect fresh air.
You are better off doing almost anything else in Nice.

A pleasure to come here, welcoming and friendly staff, good cocktails and amazing food! The lady that served us was very helpful with explaining the specials and being attentive - professional. We ordered Grilled salmon and salad and the suggested menu mushroom ravioli - delicious with lots of flavour. Generally a good vibe here, we recommend the service and food especially

Comme chaque année nous sommes retournés au sporting avec notre cocker. La nourriture y est très bonne et le choix des mets parfait tout comme celui des vins. Les mets sont joliment dressés. La plage est chic et très bien entretenue. Le personnel est sympathique, efficace et serviable. Nous reviendrons dès que nous le pourrons retrouver Mickaela et les autres membres de l’équipe.

Vi brukar åka till Nice off-season och då är stränderna lagom besökta. I år åkte vi mitt i högsommaren och pga packade stränder fick vi för oss att gå till Le Sporting.
Vi hade tänkt ett engångsbesök men bekvämligheten, servicen och maten gjorde att vi besökta dem varje dag.
Stella som skötte om hos fixade och trixade på alla sätt för att vi skulle ha det bra och trots att hon hade massor att göra så tog hon sig tid att stanna upp och prata med oss.
Bra att veta är att i högsäsong är det fullt så man måste boka en stol dagen innan (men ingen förskottsbetalning krävs).

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic day at Sporting. It was very comfortable and relaxing. However, the service was very poor and slow.
There was also clear preferential treatment to regular guests which deterred us from returning on future days, taking us elsewhere.
Furthermore, on one occasion we asked continuously for a waitress not to clear our plates at lunch to which we were confronted in a very aggressive manner. Something which you don’t expect, showing this place as a ‘wannabe’ sophisticated destination rather than an actual luxurious spot.

We had an amazing lunch right on the Mediterranean. Fresh Sea Break with artichoke and potatoes was bursting with flavor. We also enjoyed their eggplant pasta accompanied by Blonde of St. Tropez. You will really enjoy this outstanding restaurant and the friendly hostess was very kind and spoke perfect English which made us feel like we were welcomed.

A great restaurant on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France. Fabulous location and great food. Sea food is a speciality. The restaurant is located right on the beach so you have beautiful views. The atmosphere is friendly but efficient.
