A must-see place of Toulon from where you can see the whole harbor, it is beautiful, do it with the magnificent cable car sensation, I also make them by car, do not look in kms but in time its climb well a good little coffee or other at the top very pleasant moment of relaxation at the top, when it is windy its breath well.

Benoît, our expert in Means of transport, introduced us to the Cable Car of the iconic Mont-Faron, unique in the South of France and the Mediterranean coastline. It allows access, starting from the mountain foot in the North Saint-Anne district of Toulon, Boulevard de Vence, to the summit, located at 584 m altitude. A journey of 6 minutes, on a course of 1437 m, with an elevation gain of 378 m. Its installation comes from the desire of a Toulonnais, Louis Valéry Roussel, to set up this means of transport, soft and original. It was inaugurated in July 1959, and the lower station was designed by architect Pierre Pascalet (1915-2000). In 2013, the lower station was renovated and in 2017 it is the turn of the upper station with a replacement of the two red cabins. Modernized and renovated cabins with large windows and transparent floors, which offer a maximum field of view, to discover a breathtaking panorama and exceptional viewpoints. The natural site of Mount Faron has been classified since 1991, is a limestone massif that houses a forest of Aleppo pine, parasol pines, holm oaks, and century-old olive trees, with an area of 1100 hectares. Its name is a verbal variation of the word Farot, which refers to a lookout or guardhouse with its strategic location that has existed since the Neolithic. A 360° view of the harbor of Toulon and the Golden Islands. For the flora, a particularity the famous Salsepareille, beloved by the Smurfs. 97,000 passengers, transported in the year 2023.

Didn't go on the Telepherique because I was told i couldn't get a ticket from the top of the mountain as my husband and I originally climbed to the top. Worker who was there was so rude and unhelpful. There's also no actual trail going up the mountain. If you follow google maps then at some point you are actually climbing the side of the mountain on rough terrain. I would not recommend doing it if you have children with you, that was our mistake. We should have known when we could not find any information about hiking Mont Faron. Otherwise it is a beautiful view on the way up and from the top.

Starting point of the cable car is within walking distance of the center. Keep in mind that the walk goes uphill. We were early in the morning and did not have to deal with long waits. Return costs EUR 9 pp. You'll be upstairs in about five minutes. There you have a nice view over Toulon. Fun trip, also for families with children

Mont Faron is a place to discover, the view is breathtaking. Easy access thanks to the cable car (plan a lot of waiting in summer).
See also the D-Day Museum. Very moving.

Nice, the drive up (nice view over the valley the city and harbor)
Very sorry about the extreme waiting times to go up (>1 hour) and again to get down you have to queue endlessly

Went at lunchtime. Waited about an hour in very hot sun. Nice trip on the cable car with lovely views but at the top couldn’t get into the restaurant for lunch as we didn’t have a reservation. So came down again.

Cable car and road closed!!
Cause: Severe fire hazard.
Nothing is indicated on the official website as well as on the signs along the road! We climb for several kilometers to find ourselves facing a closed road! It is lamentable that this could be mentioned on the Mont Faron website and on the first sign: closed!
Apparently too complicated... they let you do 10km in the wind.
A gentleman asked at the call point at the entrance of the road leading to it if it was possible to access it even on foot, he was literally insulted by the man at the other end of the intercom!! It is unacceptable and shameful!!
We are not ready to go back to be so well received 😡
Especially since it must be closed all year except in December so if just over 30 degrees they close!
Very bad experience and very disappointed children necessarily!!!

A must in Toulon, beautiful view. You can also climb on foot but in case of a woman, the cable car is not bad.

Hi Malc1005 we are heading to Toulon on a cruise, how do you get tickets for the cable car ride. When it stops in Mont Faron how does one get back to port side to do a city tour.

Bonjour, il y a une petite route qui permet de monter en voiture et donc je pense également en vélo. Attention ça grimpe. Une fois sur place et compte tenu de la fréquentation, je crois que vous devrez garer vos vélos et faire la visite à pied. Bonne découverte !!

Oui ils sont accepté, j'avais un cocker et nous n'avons pas payé sa place. Par contre je crois que cela devient payant pour les gros chien.
