* It concentrates a doctor ego was the first to hike Mont Blanc
* Prime central meeting spot for friends and for finding lost children
* In between but close to the train station and the information

Not a fantastic intricately carved and detailed life statue depiction
“I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… because it is in the center of Chamonix and I walked past it numerous times. O looked at it. I saw the people mingling and congregating around it. I took photos.
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It is free
WOULD “I VISIT THIS PLACE” AGAIN?
I’m sure that I’ll walk past it again in my next visit to Chamonix

Located on Avenue Michel Croz, we discovered this bronze sculpture three years ago. It represents Dr Michel Gabriel Paccard who climbed Mont Blanc with Jacques Balmat in August 1786. It is a 1986 work by the sculptor Jean Lou Bouvier. Nice work.

Très bien aimé cette statue datant de 1986 qui représente le Docteur Paccard assis sur un bloc de pierre, tenant un bâton de sa main droite et en regardant le mont blanc car les finitions sont superbes. De plus cette statue a eu l'avantage de m'indiquer la position du Mont Blanc en me positionnant derrière celle-ci. Bien aimé

Au carrefour du quai d'Arve et de l'avenue Michel Croz à Chamonix (74), se trouve cette statue en bronze. Elle rend hommage au Docteur Michel Gabriel Paccard qui a effectué l'ascension du Mont Blanc le 8 août 1786 avec Jacques Balmat. Une sculpture réalisée en 1986 par l'artiste Bouvier. Pourtant d'une belle dimension, cette oeuvre n'est pratiquement pas remarquée par les touristes. Nous l'avions découverte lors de notre précédent séjour l'été dernier.

Ce monument évoque Michel Paccard, docteur, botaniste et alpiniste chamoniard, le premier à avoir gravi le Mont Blanc en compagnie de Jacques Balmat en 1786. Convaincu et déterminé à être le premier, il le fût, et cette sculpture en est la représentation, le regard rivé, fixé, sur le ont Blanc.

A Chamonix (74), à l'intersection de l'avenue Michel Croz et du quai d'Arve, vous découvrirez cette sculpture représentant le Docteur Paccard. Créée en 1986, cette oeuvre est due à la Fonderie Blanchet Landowski et au sculpteur Bouvier. Une belle création et un bel hommage.
