We visited Lyon on 10:11 December, day and night. This used to be a hospital. It was a very large building that was converted into a hotel. It even has a church. I could not enter the church from the back. It is a very large hotel by the river, a very beautiful building.

Visit very early in the morning to this superb renovated building.

No matter how much I venture into the Hotel Dieu, I don't find the place attractive, there are a lot of places to stay but something is missing and what's more the pay toilets aren't great, it smells like WC up to the hall where we sit.
People smoking inside when the place is closed, it makes no sense. The smell of the toilets and cigarettes are too much.

Beautiful and large complex of modern and ancient architecture. They took an old hospital building and made it into a luxury hotel, shopping center, and other features such as the Cite International de la Gastronomie. It was filled with young people happy to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. Free to visit, you can wander from one courtyard to another inside and the outside facade, sometimes modern, sometimes ancient is attractive too. Don't miss the chapel.

In the 17th century, the first major hospital in Lyon was built here and it was only at the beginning of this century that it was decided to give it a new purpose subject to a complete and thorough renovation and reorientation. The imposing facade along the Rhone banks was restored to its former grandeur and the entire architectural work took almost 5 years to complete!
Now this large building has various functions. It is freely accessible so that everyone can enjoy the beauty of this building complex at all times.

Hotel Dieu Lyon is a spectacular grand hotel in the finest riverside setting in central Lyon. Hôtel-Dieu de Lyon was a hospital of historical significance situated on the west bank of the Rhone river, and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Hotel Dieu opened in 2019 and thus has every modern convenience that you would expect for a high spec luxury hotel. The room we were allotted had a marvellous view of the River Rhone, and while it wasn't spectacular, it certainly was more than good enough. The grand room where the bar is located is worth the price of admission alone. Spectacular. The hotel allows visitors to walk through the old town, such is its' central location close to all attractions. The staff were attentive and friendly, happy to engage and assist in any way they could. Our only disappointment was that we only stayed two nights! We cannot wait to stay here again one day.

2 toilettes, dont un hors service, dans un ensemble commercial aussi vaste, c'est juste une expérience épouvantable.
