What ever you do book on line to avoid over inflated prices if you just walk in.
Have skied many places and normally take our own skies, this time I thought we would try some new skis, unfortunately our skies (6 years old) were far better and at £203.00 for 6 days rental they were disappointing.

Snowberry Ski Rental is best avoided. The manageress is the most unpleasant and aggressive woman not only in Val d'Isere but most probably anywhere in the Alps. You may say that is quite an achievement - and you would be correct. But sadly it is a Brit that holds the award of the person best avoided in Val d'Isere. Much better to go to one of the French ski rental companies where you will get much better equipment at far better prices, and enjoy the helpful, friendly and warm service that one receives from all the French people in Val d'Isere.

My family and I have been loyal customers of Snowberry for 10 years. On our walk in visit in late Feb 2023 we mentioned to the front of house team that we were long standing return clients and that in previous years we had been kindly offered 'friends and family discount' we were pleased to be assured that this would be applied again. We were charged 550 euros for 2 pairs of skiis, boots and poles. We sensed that this was more than we'd normally expect to pay. When we checked online after leaving the store we were surprised to discover that without any discount, we could have hired the equipment for 140 euros less than we had paid. We returned to the store to discuss and the people in charge confirmed that the walkin price was much higher than the online price. The two people we spoke to weren't interested in any form of long standing customer retention...their response was that they weren't in any position to help us because the computer system wouldn't allow them to make any change. We felt totally shafted and let down by a company to whom we have been nothing but loyal. We made our feelings known to them and that it was likely that they were about to lose us as customers, our hope was that they'd see good business sense, understand our position and make a gesture when the equipment was returned. Our return experience was one of total disdain. Ordered to fasten and clip boots, ordered to place them here, ordered to put skiis at a different place and a complete absence of any discussion on the pricing policy.
The customer retention effort was nil, as a family, we typically avoid conflict, for us, it is awkward to write a negative review, however, on this occassion Snowberry deserve it. We will not hire kit from them again and we advise anyone considering renting equipment for a ski holiday in Val D'Isere not to walk in to Snowberry to hire their ski quipment.

Better informed or better communicating staff. Better kit. Better service ? NO NONE of THOSE Definitely not worth the extra cost - next time anyone else in Val D’Isere . Who knew we’d be told , “But it’s only hire kit- what are you expecting?” We’ve used snowberry very happily for years - NEVER AGAIN . AVOID .

The lady in charge was not helpful and she made me feel like I shouldn't be there, like she had better things to do. I went into the shop full of joy, looking forward to my first day on the slopes. I left feeling like the hole holiday mite be a mistake. Luckily I left and went to Intersport not far from them and they turned my mood around. It was a good ski day.

We decided to hire from Snowberry after reading about how good they are online but the whole experience just wasn't great.
The boot fitting service was probably the best part and they did seem to do a more in-depth measurement than other hire shops I'd been to.
When it came to the skis it was really poor. The gentleman serving barely spoke, gave no advice, there was absolutely no choice he just handed us some ski's he didn't ask what type of skiing we were planning on doing or if we had any preferences. The first pair of skis I got were absolutely battered and were terrible on the first day after the recent heavy snowfall, thankfully you can change them and when I took them back and described the skis I wanted they were much better.
Also other members of our group hired from a different hire shop and their skis were much newer and in better condition.
On return it was really bad too, you'd think on changeover day they would put on more staff but there was literally one person doing the returns with a queue almost out the door.
Wouldn't use again.

I was in Val D'Isere last week with a new pair of boots, purchased from Snow & Rock, which required some fine tuning. I walked into Snowberry with a completely numb left foot, and with the professional assistance of Jock, who gave me at least two hours of his time, eventually walked away with the most comfortable boots ever. One of those experiences that restores my faith in human nature. Jock is definitely a very experienced technician and I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

This is my very first time posting on trip advisor as it requires an awful lot for me sufficiently dissatisfied to write a review such as this. I went to Snowberry for equipment following a recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately the older lady who served me was incredibly rude. In the end I did not hire equipment from the shop and I will not be recommending the shop to anyone else. I do not require excessive standards of customer care but in this instance basic levels of respect and courtesy were lacking.
