I took this guided tour to learn more about the history of this beautiful city. The tour starts at the Handwerkerhof hamlet and continues to the city center via the Konig Strasse making several stops where the guide explained the various historical events that marked the development of the city from its founding until after World War II. The Old Town tour ends at the Kaiserbug after which there is a short lunch break before taking the bus to the Nazi Party rally grounds. Here the historical context of the years that saw the rise of National Socialism is described and especially the various motivations that led to the building of this immense area right on the outskirts of the city.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone who really wants to learn about the city and its historical backgrounds. Without a guide it would be difficult to learn in such a short time about so many aspects and to be able to appreciate the historical and cultural richness of the city.

Great tour of Nurnberg old town and the Rally square. Wonderful tour with a lovely guide. Elizabeth really made the sights come alive.

Very interesting and insightful trip. Our guide Achim Wigand provided a brilliant and informative historical narrative to the day laced not only with fascinating detail but accompanied with humour and sharp wit. Fascinating and unforgettable day with a break for refreshment and lunch in the Old Town.

The Nazi Rally Grounds tour in Nuremberg was very interesting and well worth the time we spent. Our tour guide Dimitri was very knowledgeable about that time period and we appreciated his insights and the information he shared with us. It was a sobering reminder of that era and something that everyone should be exposed to.

Definitely worth doing this tour, Natasha our guide was really knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. The tour lasted over 4 hours but we had a 30 minute break in the middle so we were able to get some lunch from the market and use the facilities. I learnt so much history about the Old Town and about the Nazi Party Rally grounds was really interesting and am so glad we added it into our Christmas market weekend.

Our guide, Paul, has an unbelievable level of knowledge of the history of not only Nuremberg, but the world. He has a personal connection to Nuremberg which helps bring things to life. He showed his compassionate nature when he stopped his lecture to help a woman with a cane struggling to walk up a hill carrying bags of groceries. He kept the group on time for transportation. The tour was supposed to be 4 hours, but due to his love of the topic and the city it lasted 5 1/2 hours. It was a great day and we were very fortunate to have Paul as our guide.

Our guide, Andrew, helped make our walking tour extremely interesting and even allowed us to forget how long we were walking. We were able to see the beauty of Nuremberg and at the same time understand the rich history of the city. We also were able t experience some of the food and drinks unique to the area. We really appreciate that Firebird Tours arranged this private tour for us.

Paul was a fantastic tour guide! He kept the pace going through Old Town Nürnberg, stopping at good intervals to provide interesting history & stories that kept us engaged. There was so many neat things to learn about the various churches, buildings & places in Old Town. He even brought us to a stall that gave us a piece of the traditional gingerbread cookies.
You are given a short time in the Christmas Market and then time for lunch that has traditional Franconian food.
You then take a public bus to get to the Nazi Rally Grounds. You walk for a little bit to the grounds, so be sure to wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes. It is crazy that you can actually stand where Hitler once did! Paul covers a broad range of Germany’s history as you walk through areas that are discussed.

Did a city tour with Nick. He did an excellent job. We really liked his ability to answer all our questions. We saw a lot of Nuremberg that we did not see before and learned a lot about the history. He made the tour amazing!!

Hello. I am considering taking this tour and have a few questions. Does this tour goto the Luitpold Arena site, the Congress Hall, the Congress Hall Gallery, the Great Road, and the Zeppelin Field?
I saw one poster say he was on a tour and it did not go inside the Rally Grounds but someone else said the second person did go inside the Rally Grounds. If the tour does go in the rally grounds, does it goto the balcony where the famous speeches were given?
Does anyone know if the tour will still occur when the Fall Festival starts in around two weeks?

We are planning on being in Nuremberg May5th and want to tour Old Town, the rally grounds etc. How large are the general tours? Is it possible to join a smaller private tour with another few couples (ie strangers) for a more reasonably priced private tour? A private tour for just two people is too costly for us.
Also would you recommend touring the Documentation Center on its own the Tuesday before as we will have time. We'd appreciate your advice. Thank you so much.

I'm not Jason, but I took the tour with him. The tour he conducts from the Bahnhof was, in my case, a nice, small group of about 10 people - just right. As far as the Documentation Center, I recommend you tour it by yourself a day after you take the walking tour with Jason. -= Bruce Gustin =-

Hello, Jason, I am a 75 year old active woman, traveling alone for 2 months. This is my first trip to Germany, and you have been recommended as a great guide. I will be coming to Nuremberg from Berlin on 18 July, and would like to take a tour with you on the 19th. After reading some reviews of your company, I would much prefer going with a group that you will be guiding. Is that possible on that date? I am staying at the Holiday Inn downtown. Thanks so much.
