We were part of a group tour and visited the cemetery in April. The Commonwealth War Graves commission are responsible for the upkeep of the cemetery and the place is in immaculate condition.
Mostly the graves are from air force bomber command & some of the Dambusters are buried here
The book of remembrance can be signed in the gated entrance area.

We were part of a Bomber Command Tour of Europe and visited the cemetary at the end of April. As always the Commonwealth War Graves maintain this immaculate cemetary and it is a beautiful and serene place to visit. Some of the Dambusters are buried here and there is also a "Great Escaper" from Stalug Luft III Flying Officer D Street, gravestones can be found.
The book of rememberance can be signed in the gated entrance area and all the graves are listed alphabetically and state the plot within the cemetary.

Great way to talk with the kids about the cruelty of war. Look at the age on the tompstones. And leave a remark in the guest book

Me and the wife were driving back from spandau and saw the signs for the cemetery, so we popped in to pay our respects. Lovingly maintained as always by the Commonwealth War graves. When ever you go make sure you sign the book. Just as a wee apprication for the staff that look after the place.

très accessible depuis le M39 depuis la gare routière, il faut pousser le portail et rentrer et très isolé, ces tombes prêtent à la réflexion

A place for remembrance and reflections. a place to start thinking. With an interest in war history and knowing why these boys are here, I had to take a moment to my self to cope with the rest of the day. beautiful and painful at the same time, not knowing a single soul here.

A very peaceful place, and well kept, as I have found the other war cemeterys I have visited to be also. Not very easy to get there, but not really difficult either.
Always makes an impression to read the personal last words from families and loved ones on the tombstones.

We visited here as part of a coach tour doing a Dambusters Tour.
Lots of Bomber Command are buried here, this is of course beautifully maintained as usual.
Always emotional visiting.... but well worth a visit.

Etwas "ausserhalb" von Berlin findet man diese gepflegte Gedenkstätte für die Besatzung britischer, kanadischer und australischer Flugzeuge die ihr Leben
liessen um Deutschland und die Welt vom Nazi-Terror zu befreien. Eine Stätte der inneren Einkehr, um zu rekapitulieren was geschehen war. Tragisch zu sehen, in welchem Alter die Besatzungen der Maschinen ihr Leben liessen!

Spent a morning here. Very interesting and thought provoking. Sad that so many young men and women lost their lives during any war or conflict. I think the average age of the airmen is about 23. Whole generations of families wiped out.

I'm visiting Berlin in May for the first time, not sure which area to stay, was thinking of Charlenburg, does anyone know how far and how I travel to the war cemetery, paying respects to my uncle, who was shot down over Berlin during the 2nd world war, thanks.
