This is a world best in Maritime museums. I have been to 867 cities and visited every museum on some of the cities. This is like the London science/Greenwich museums in one place.

Muito interessante, uma viagem pela história. Para quem gosta de mar, marinhas, navegação, história das navegações e descobrimentos é um lugar imperdível. Gostei muito do museu. As miniaturas e maquetes são das melhores que há. São horas de encantamento e de imaginação funcionando. Gostei bastante e vale a pena.

Umfangreiche Sammlung zur Schiffahrt. Sehr viele Schiffsmodelle vom Beginn der Schiffahrt bis in die Gegenwart. Es ist alles dabei: Marine, Handels und Paasagierschiffe, sowie alle Themen die damit Zusammenhängen wie Krieg, Kolonisierung, Fracht wie Stückgut bis hin zu Containern. Viele ausgefallene Exponate gibt es zu entdecken. Man kann viel Zeit verbringen. Gern hätte ich den Schiffssimulator in Aktion gesehen, musste wegen Krankheit des Personals leider ausfallen. Vielleicht ein Grund nochmals rein zu gehen..

Für alle die sich für Schiffe, Boote und Seefahrt interessiert ist es ein Muss. Man sollte sich viel Zeit mitbringen, da es viel zu sehen und lesen gibt.

Alle maritime Bereiche werden abgedeckt. Sehr interessante,detaillierte Abteilungen. Muss man besuchen. Und sich Zeit nehmen.

Migliaia di modellini di navi in tutte le scale, oggetti di uso comune, armi, divise, una galleria di quadri raccontano diffusamente la storia della marineria e della navigazione. Logicamente è focalizzato in particolare sull'area tedesca, ma una visita non può mancare. Molte scale per passare da un piano all'altro ma anche un comodo ascensore è a disposizione dei visitatori Il biglietto vale tutto il giorno, si può anche uscire dal museo per andare a ristorarsi in uno dei locali del quartiere e poi rientrarvi. Ci è piaciuto e ci ha interessato molto, bella la location nel suo complesso. Prendetevi il vostro tempo, e ne varrà ancoramdi più la pena.

The IMM is located in a beautifully restored warehouse in the so called HafenCity area, close to the historic harbor area. Paid parking is available in nearby parking garages, but a better option may be to use the excellent public transportation in Hamburg.
The museum was founded about 20 years ago by a number of German companies and foundations, most of them within the shipping industry. Peter Tamm senior played an important role in establishing the museum, and his impressive donations of exhibits are the backbone of this impressive museum.
Trade and shipping have always been important to the city of Hamburg and this museum is a definitely a worthy representative. In total nine decks of exhibits are on show and it is possible to spend many hours here, but also necessary to make some choices. A must see is the brilliant and very impressive Lego model of Queen Mary 2.
A well stocked gift shop, a bistro, and a café are also available and we really enjoyed our visit here.

Sehr detailliert und informativ gestaltet. Auch mit vielen Stationen zum anfassen und selbst ausprobieren. Ich empfehle für den Besuch einen vollen Tag einzuplanen. Es lohnt sich!

Meget interessant udstilling uanset om du er til skibe eller ej. Der er så meget at se at du ikke kan undgå at blive fanget i timer uanset hvad

I am not a big fan of seafaring, or anything nautical themed, really, but I still thought this museum was one of the best I have ever encountered. The layout is nine floors (decks); each offer something different or unique. My favourite part of the museum is on the ninth floor, wherein minature ships and dioramas of naval battles and ports are located. It is absolutely extraordinary! There were gorgeous paintings, antiques from all over the world, a Lego ship larger than myself and two friends combined - something for all ages. It was entirely comprehensive; an exhibition on famous voyagers, the evolution of ship-building, underwater exploration... and a hundred more things I am forgetting. It was really a divine experience and something I would happily spend all day in, and come back to on another trip.
