Il circolo del denaro

Quest’opera intitolata “Il circolo del denaro” si trova in un angolo dell’Elisengarten, un bel giardino ai margini del centro storico. La fontana si compone di una bassa vasca circolare, sul bordo della quale si notano le sculture in bronzo di persone che rappresentano i diversi modi di rapportarsi con il denaro. Particolarità di questa fontana è quella di utilizzare acqua calda, proveniente dalle fonti termali. A parte il suo significato simbolico, alla vista non è particolarmente attraente.

This fountain with it's many statues, depicts the money circuit. All the characters are dealing with money in one way or another. Think avarice, greed, bankers! It's one of many quirky fountains in Aachen.

Kreislauf des Geldes (obieg pieniądza) to fontanna w Akwizgranie stworzona w 1976 roku przez rzeźbiarza Karla-Henninga Seemanna. Stoi przy Hartmannstrasse na północno-zachodnim końcu parku Elisengarten. Fontanna ma kształt okrągłego basenu, na brzegach którego ustawione są różne postacie mające coś wspólnego z pieniędzmi. Symbolizują chciwość, sknerstwo, mecenat, żebractwo, a ojciec wyjaśnia dziecku jak obchodzić się z pieniędzmi. Podobnie jak pieniądze, woda w fontannie płynie przez cały rok ponieważ fontanna jest zasilana przez źródła termalne. Latem fontanna jest popularnym miejscem spotkań mieszkańców miasta i turystów.

Missed a banker

2022年7月

Seemann's sculptures of people dealing with money are wonderful. I had anticipated a money cycle, but it really isn't. The people depicted show different characters dealing with money. A parent who teaches a child how to use it, a miser, a do-good person, a beggar. I missed a banker, but perhaps he falls into the 'greed' category. Special about bankers is that they succeeded in upsetting the cycle of money in the society by creating bubbles of money out of thin air.

Interresting sculpture near the Aachener Dom

Kreislauf des Geldes (money cycle), this fountain was created in 1976 and symbolises avarice, greed, patronage and begging. Just like money, the water in the fountain flows all year round, since it is fed by the thermal springs.
