Absolutely to do. The bust and crown of Charlemagne are very impressive. A rich and beautiful collection that is sometimes more than a thousand years old! Too bad the whole basement is in untranslated German.

I loved the Treasury. Such gorgeous and precious artworks. The Reliquary of Charlemagne is magnificent. There are a number of remarkable pieces. One item which was so special was the coronet of Margaret of York, the sister of Richard III. Because Oliver Cromwell melted down the English crown jewels in the 1650s, this coronet has great historic significance. It is one of the only English crown jewels from the Middle Ages left in existence.

Small and absolutely magnificent museum where the impressive treasure of the Cathedral of Aachen is displayed. Mandatory visit we use audio guide that I consider indispensable. He explains everything perfectly. Of particular note are the liturgical gold objects, the reliquary bust of Charlemagne, the Cross of Loreto and of course the coffin of Proserpina, of Roman origin and which was reused to deposit the body of Charlemagne when he died. Mandatory visit in Aachen

If you get a chance to explore this place, do so. They keep all the relics. It’s like a museum. You have to pay to enter. There’s paid parking along the road

Nice clear exhibition. Beautifully highlighted. Good audio tour, also in Dutch. Buy tickets at the Dominformation across the street. And book a tour of the Cathedral right away.

This collection was amazing. I could have spent a lot longer here admiring individual pieces, but I was traveling with family. Lots of beautiful paintings, sculptures, and objects. Make sure you do the full 360° around objects as sometimes the more ornate part of a piece was hidden on the back (like the cross). Definitely worth the visit.

mediocre is the perfect term for me , a bunch of religious relic of the area not bad but in the end a bit of a scam because none of the "pieces of Charlemagne are there you have to go to Vienna!!

Took the opportunity to check out the collections. There is much nice to look at. Also outside the building is beautiful. A visit here can be recommended.

Really interesting exhibits. Maybe of special interest to someone with a religious background but hopefully also sufficiently stunning to someone who does not have that background. Found it fascinating. Def worth a look.

Hiyah,their is no access for wheelchairs above ground floor. You can go to THE SHRINE OK.The Treasury has wheelchair access and is well worth a visit!
