Der Eintritt diesen Museums ist kostenlos.
An sich ist die Ausstellung interessant, aber ich finde sie zu west-propagiert. Teilweise hat mich auch der Teil mit der DDR überrascht, wie sie hier, im Westen dargestellt wurde. Andererseits war es informativ, die andere Seite der Darstellung Deutschlands zu sehen.

A must see

This museum is 100 % free! It tells the history of Germany after 1945 or WWII. Make sure to plan enough time for the visit, because there is so much to see. Some panels with information are in English. I recommend listening to the audiotour that’s available online. Lots of original documents and artefacts. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Combine with a visit to “Dokumentationsstätte Regierungsbunker” about 20 km from the museum for a full “Cold War” experience.

Lächerliche Ausstellung, Germany Digital

Das Haus der Geschichte ist hervorragend kuratiert und liebevoll zusammengestellt. Leider gibt es eine Sonderausstellung zum Thema digitales Deutschland. Diese stellt leider das gesamte Haus der Geschichte und seine Seriösität infrage. Deutschland ist in Europa bekannt als digitales Steinzeitland: kaum Mobilfunk, Desaster einer digitalen Verwaltung und wirtschaftlich auf dem Abstieg.

Goede indruk van na-oorlogs Duitsland

Zeer goed opgebouwde en informatieve collectie over het na-oorlogse Duitsland. Interactief, gevarieerd, groot. Mooi gebouw, leuke entree beneden. Beheersing van Duitse of Engelse taal is wel nodig om de expositie te begrijpen. Geschikt voor kinderen en volwassen.

German History From 1945

Decided to visit this German history museum as an escape from an afternoon of heavy rain - so glad we did as it’s a fascinating museum. It does not shy away from the Nazi atrocities however it is presented in a way that is accessible to children. Free entry, take blue tooth earphones as there are interactive QR codes where different languages can be selected. You’ll need to check in backpacks and coats. Allow 2 hours, more if you’re German.

Must-visit in Bonn

If you are interested in German history, this is a must-visit place in Bonn. The museum shows relevant aspects of German society after 1945 straightforwardly. Be aware the exhibition is in German, so ask for an audioguide at the entrance.

Well worth the visit

2023年7月

An excellent museum-starts with brief coverage of WW2 and allied occupation of Germany. It then diverges and show the 2 separate histories of East and West Germany running parallel in the exhibits. This was my primary reason for coming to Bonn and the museum did not disappoint. Some of the displays had English and there was an audio guide in English that I could have obtained, but decided against it as I was trying to work on my comprehension of German. A wealth of artifacts on display. Gift shop is ok, but I saw very few written items in English so did not pick up any items other than a few postcards. Restaurant is on upper level and I ordered currywurst for the first time (and not the last during my stay in Germany) and it was reasonably priced and pretty good. The only negative would be the lady working the counter, who I had ordered from in the restaurant earlier, who rolled her eyes and acted condescending when I said entschuldigung (excuse me) about something that she said. I just needed it repeated because she spoke fast. First world problems lol-overall well worth the visit.

Muy interesante y gratuito

Un museo realmente bien realizado, organizado y explicado, y gratuito, aunque la audioguía es español muestra sólo una pequeña Seleccion de los carteles explicativos. Tremendo ver el maltrato y la crueldad al que fue sometida la población civil alemana por los invasores durante los años posteriores a la derrota en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Y muy interesante las crecientes diferencias entre las dos Alemanias.

Sehr interessant gestaltet. Hatte nur 2,5 Stunden. Habe es bis 1949 geschafft. Dort gehe ich noch ein paar mal in Ruhe hin.

Dieses kostenlose Museum dient als interessanter Geschichtsunterricht für Deutschland und sollte für jeden zum Pflichtbesuch gehören. 2 Weltkriege, die Teilung unseres Landes, die Flüchtlingskrise, die Flutkatastrophe...
Hier wird alles aufgearbeitet und anschaulich bebildert. Für Kinder und Jugendliche gibt's viel interaktives zum mitmachen. Ein wirklich tolles Museum für das man locker 2 Stunden veranschlagen sollte.
