Statue located in an underpass two minutes from the Cathedral and Central Train Station. We saw her every day because she was the way out of our hotel. It represents the Greek God Dionysius and some days I found it ugly and others very ugly, but it is because I do not have enough sensitivity for modern art. If you have a few days and many things to see I would tell you not to use a minute for this thing, because even that time deserves

Strange Fountain depicting the Greek God of Wine (come to think of it, perhaps in a state of inebriation); it is located near the Cathedral and is made of bronze on a granite base; It didn't excite me.

Located on an underpass very close to the magnificent Dom is this monument called Dionysos Brunnen.
It's a fountain in honour of Dionysus ,the Greek god of wine making ,fruit,fertility, festivities, orchards,insanity, madness and religious fervor ,its a stylized fountain, its modern, its kinda cute,it's kinda ugly but it's unusual and so I found it pleasant on the eye,a fascinating piece of street art that's most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Am Domhof.

This fountain is a little difficult to find and to be quite frank, it would've been better it had stayed lost to me. This sculpture is supposed Dionysius and this sculpture is no classical interpretation of the Greek god of wine. I'm all for different interpretations, but this sculpture is just some kind of cubist nonsense and I can see why it hidden away under a tunnel.

Uma fonte localizada logo atrás da Catedral de Colônia, um pouco fora da rota dos turistas, mais vistas pelos motoristas que saem do estacionamento próximo à Estação de Trem. Representação modernista do Deus grego da natureza, da fecundidade, da alegria e do teatro. Uma homenagem ao Deus do Vinho na região vinícola de Colônia. Foi construída em 1973.

Ich kann mich meinen beiden Vorrrednern nur anschließen, es ist ein kleiner schöner Brunnen, dessen Lage allerdings sehr versteckt ist. Danke für die Tipps bezüglich der Lage.

Es hat schon einige Zeit gedauert,
bis ich den "Gott des Weines" gefunden
habe: Er befindet sich eine Etage unter
der Domplatte!!!
Am besten die Treppe gegenüber
dem Haupteingang vom Museum
Ludwig hinuntergehen!!
Was für ein Standort!!
Ein an sich sehr interessant
gestalteter Brunnen befindet sich
an einer Stelle, wo kaum Fussgänger
langgehen und die Autofahrer,
verwirrt von den vielen Abzweigungen,
sich auf die Fahrbahn konzentrieren...
bis ich den "Gott des Weines" gefunden
habe: Er befindet sich eine Etage unter
der Domplatte!!!

We came across this " interesting" statue that is eye catching to say the least.
The statue looks surreal to me,I think it may have something to do with water ( or wine ) ,not to sure ,it could be water as I know brunnen is fountain in German, and in all honesty I didn't know how to react to it.
It's different for sure and thought provoking.
When I got back to Liverpool I looked up on the net for information on this Sculpure and there was very little to be found,I gleaned from various blogs that it was sculpured in 1973 by Hans Karl Burgeff but that was about it,anyway it's sort of interesting,sort of ugly and if your in the area probably well worth checking out.

Прошли рядом с этим фонтаном и даже не поняли замыслов автора и кто это. Позже прочли о Дионисе. Хорошее место в центре Кёльна, характеризует римские корни начала водоснабжения города.
