This attractive Gothic church with its tall, twisted spire towers over the Old Town and is one of its highlights. The crooked spire dates back to a lightning strike in 1815 where the church was repaired while still ablaze.

In the middle of Dusseldorf by the river we saw this beautiful church and decided to go inside.
It surprised us because it was very beautiful and had many motifs such as sculptures and glass windows that were very worth seeing.

A medieval gothic church that dominates the old city neighborhood with size and beauty. The interior softens the gothic with wonderful elements of baroque. The consecrated bones of St. Apollinois the apologist continues to provide pilgrims a destination. The medieval art is an added plus.

The largest Catholic Church in Dusseldorf and one of the oldest, obviously taking into account not the current structure but the first settlements on the site which date back to at least 1000/1100; the exterior is very beautiful and hosts various Sculptures or Groups of Sculptures such as the Crucifixion; there are many beautiful and important works inside and in first place I would put the splendid Organs, the Stained Glass, the very particular and finely decorated Pulpit, the main Altar, the Sculpture of the "Pietà of San Lamberto"; there are various side altars (some very beautiful) and various ancient sculptures, some of which date back to the period from the 11th to the 15th century; finally, there are some tombs of important political figures as well as the relics of Sant'Apollinare, Patron Saint of the City.

From the outside, St Lambertus looks impressive and we would have loved to go inside to see more. However, church was closed for the duration of our visit and we had to admire the architecture from outside.

One of the landmark buildings in Dusseldorf is St Lambertus Church.
Parts of this beautiful church date from 1206,enlarged between 1288-1394 ,its such an amazing church to view ,its most notable feature is its crooked spire ,in 1815 this church was struck by lightning ,a new spire was constructed from unseasoned timber that dried and left us with this crooked spire,I love the legend better ,in a fit of rage at the sheer beauty of St Lambertus Church the devil twisted the spire ,it most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Dusseldorf and easy to locate on Stiftsplatz.

This church can be spotted from quite a way away with its main feature being a slightly twisted spire. We spend a short time inside looking at some of the decor in this very old building. It's not the most ornate church in the world but worth a visit if you're in the area.

デュッセルドルフ旧市街の北側にあるBurgplatzの近くにある教会です。教会外側で十字架に張付けられている３体の像と、教会内の赤色の美しいライトアップとマリア母子像が特に印象的でした。非現実感を感じることが出来たユニークな教会でした。

St. Lambertus è la principale chiesa cattolica di Dusseldorf, vicinissima alla Burgplatz, si trova in un contesto diverso dal resto della città, caratterizzato da case a mattoncino, e non a caso la chiesa è ritenuta l'edificio più antico della città. Le grandi vetrate gotiche sono l'aspetto che mi ha colpito più di tutti, e incidono notevolmente sull'aspetto interno della chiesa, che se potete, vi invito a visitare in una giornata di sole e in una nuvolose, vi sembreranno due chiese diverse.
