A beautiful cathedral in the center. Inside very beautiful and especially the organ very imposing.
The exterior of the Cathedral is also very well maintained.
For us, the cathedral will remain a special place. While we were sitting on the steps of the outside stairs we were informed that our 16-year-old cat had to be put to sleep. Through video calling we said goodbye and were at her last moment. Then we went into the cathedral to light a candle for her.
A special and emotional moment that we will never forget this cathedral.

The cathedral in Paderborn is very beautiful. From the outside it looks impressive and imposing. Inside it is very bright and friendly for a cathedral. Among other things, you can admire the paradise portal, the huge chancel, several chapels, the redesigned cathedral crypt with the relics of St. Liborius, which will reopen in 2023, and the cloister with the three hares window. It was a great visit.

I really liked the cathedral, especially the interior decoration. And also the square in front of the cathedral and the lawn with the river behind the cathedral, like two realities separated and at the same time united by the wet walls of the fence.

This is definitely worth a visit for all people who love history. What a great cathedral.
Several organs with a total of more than 150 registers, many ornaments and chapels. Beautiful.
The tomb has recently been restored and can be visited again. The entrance is free.

Mega groß und Imposanter Eingangsbereich, viel Sitz Möglichkeiten, der Domplatz sehr weiträumig mit Sitz Gelegenheiten und Brunnen.

A school trip to Germany for a month included a trip up into the roof and bell chamber of the Dom as part of some special tour arrangements for our students.
Knowledgeable and well connected with the students, the guides were locals with an impressive historical knowledge.
Thoroughly recommend a visit here

Wenn man Paderborn besucht sollte man sich 2 std zeit einplanen um den Paderborner Dom zur besuchen.

Ein sehr schöner Dom der seit über 700 Jahren an dieser Stelle steht aber nicht bereits vor 700 Jahren so war wie Ihr ihn jetzt sieht. Die erste Kirche ließ hier Karl der Große bauen im Jahre 777 und sie war ganz aus Holz. Es war eine Missionskirche mit der Karl der Große das Christentum nach Westfalen brachte. Die Kirche die so aussieht wie ihr sie seht besteht aus dem 13 Jh.
Ich empfehle Euch sich auf die Einzelheiten zu konzentrieren, sowohl was die Außenarchitektur als auch die innere Architektur und Ausstattung betrifft.
Der Innenraum ist erstaunlich hell. Zu bewundern gibt es u.a. das Paradiesportal, die Pietá, den gotischen Hochaltar (spätes 15. Jh.), die Doppelmadonna (um 1480), das monumentale Grabmal des Fürstbischofs Dietrich IV. von Fürstenberg und eine Kanzel im Régence- Stil (1736). Nach dem Besuch ist ein Abstecher zu der Abdinghofkirche anzuraten. Von den Paderwiesen gibt es an einem ganz bestimmten Platz die Möglichkeit die Türme der Abdinghofkirche mit dem Turm des Doms zwischen den beiden Türmen dieser evangelischen Kirche zu bewundern; es sieht so aus als ob der Turm des Doms zur Abdinghofkirche gehören würde und ich finde es ist eine schöne Metapher des Friedens und des friedlichen Zusammenlebens.

Eastern mass 2022 was beautiful. Afterwards you could take a coloured egg. It was inspiring. Long mass with singing.
