I guess that the Jesuitenplatz (Jesuit Square) is the most beautiful square in the Old Town of Koblenz.
We were here in December and also visited the Christmas Market here.
The name comes from the religious order of the Jesuites.
The palatial Jesuit school with its towers and magnificent porches on the eastern side of the square was built suring the 17th century. it houses the Koblenz city hall since 1895.

Fraai plein gelegen hartje Altstadt Koblenz. Omzoomd door imposante monumentale bouwwerken. Veel horecagelegenheden met uiteraard terrassen.

Went here to see the Krismas market. On one of the buildings, they use the windows for and advent calendar. Lovely square.

Wonderful short visit, actually stayed at the Diehl's Hotel on the River. This hotel is excellent and I was pleasantly surprised to see it was as it was 42 years ago when I stayed there. Clean and pristine and very accommodating. Koblenz stay was memorable. Wish I had more time to relax and enjoy!!

Koblenz hat viele beeindruckende Kirchen unterschiedlicher Baustile zu bieten, die im Innern moderne "City"-Kirche ist leider keine davon. Da sie aber neben dem populären Schängelbrunnen liegt zieht sie einige Besucher an, wenn auch nur für eine Minute, bis sie das Innere gesehen haben. Aber es soll ja noch ein paar Leite geben, die Kirchen aus dem Grunde besuchen, für den sie ursprünglich gebaut wurden. Für alle anderen: Einfach vorbeigehen.....

Agréable petite place bien agencée juste derrière la mairie de Coblence.
D'un côté une petite église et la commune et de l'autre côté des cafés et restaurants.

The Platz itself is very pretty with lovely old (ish) buildings.. Its a nice spot for a relaxing sitdown , there are plenty of cafes in the vicinity too. The church is a matter of taste, we thought it was mkuch better from the outside and were diasppointed with the inside , mainly because of the "angry" modernist style widows and art.

Het is de moeite waard even af te dwalen en de prachtige gebouwen aan het plein eens te gaan bekijken. Ook de terrasjes met ijs en koffie doen het goed. Een leuke plek om even te vertoeven.
