Really interesting museum, with great history across Phoenicians, Romans and more emergent past. Very well explained by the guides. And it’s free! Best place to visit in Cadiz

Non è possibile! In vacanza a 30 chilometri da Cadice, abbiamo programmato una visita alla città. Sapendo che la visita al sito archeologico va prenotata, pur se gratuita, ci siamo recati all'ingresso del sito in largo anticipo sulla apertura. Campeggiava un cartello che diceva che i posti per la visita del pomeriggio erano esauriti.Ho chiesto alla signorina allo sportello. Mi ha detto che avrei dovuto recarmi di persona al mattino e prenotare la visita del pomeriggio. Posto che: 1 al telefono non accettano prenotazioni, 2 non è possibile prenotare on line sul sito, ne consegue che la visita è riservata ai soli abitanti di Cadice.

Me gusto bastante. No sé si se hacen visitas guiadas, no fue mi caso. Me hubiera gustado tener explicaciones de cada rincón y cada descubrimiento porque es alucinante lo que hay. Pensar que hay tanto por descubrir…. No sé si tiene suficiente publicidad porque es para darle un valor incalculable y un verdadero tesoro de la ciudad

Muy interesante. Muy original el vídeo de presentación y estupenda la musealizacion del yacimiento. Aunque no es demasiado grande, muestra a la perfección los orígenes de la ciudad.

Well organised and very interesting museum. Took about 45 min, including a 15 min film about the phonecian history of Cadiz. Do beware that you cannot book days in advance or book online. Show up when they open and get your tickets for your preferred Time that day

Very interesting worth a visit numbers are restricted to 25 per session. Not the easiest place to find as it is within the theatre.

Scheduled hourly entrance with free tickets. Introduction video in Spanish with English subtitles. Excellent and interesting archaeological and historical site, with friendly and helpful staff.
IMPORTANT: The description indicates the site is temporarily closed. As of May 10, 2023, it was and is open.
Bonus - Around the corner is an archaeological site from the Roman era. Also free. Also interesting.

As the numbers who visit are limited you have to book a slot. There is an introductory film then you are allowed to wander round the site and enjoy the ancient finds.

Interesting tour, free, but tickets needed. Tour guide speaks in Spanish then translates to English. Video has English subtitles and is easy to understand. Worth a visit! Check their website for times.

The guide was easy to understand and was able to answer my questions with ease. Well done exhibit! I loved seeing and learning about the Phoenician culture. Just amazing that this exists and is on display! It’s a must see!

Hola Alejandro, pues no. El Yacimiento está en el casco viejo de Cádiz. Podrías dejar el coche en el parking de la Estación de Autobús y caminar hasta el Yacimiento unos 10 ó 15 minutos. Por la zona hay otros lugares interesantes para visitar. Espero haberte ayudado y te deseo una feliz estancia en Cádiz, es una ciudad muy bonita.

The video at the beginning of the visit can be viewed in Spanish with subtitles in English, if you request it. Or in English with Spanish subtitles if most visitors speak English. It is a different museum, very interesting.
You don't need any reservation.
Schedule:
Tuesday to Sunday in the following consecutive passes:
10 a.m. to 11 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. - 14.00 - 15.00h - 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
* Schedule subject to programming Puppet Theatre "La Tía Norica"
The box office is open from 9.45 am and can be removed from that hour, 2 tickets per person for any pass that day
