We are a group of Australians with limited ideas on what to do, where and how to eat in Malaga. Laura got us up to speed very quickly and put us on a good path to eating and drinking our way through our stay. Laura is incredibly knowledgeable, professional and friendly. The tour was a lot of fun and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

TapasinMalaga provided us with an outstanding tapas and wine experience during our stay in Malaga. Laura was a cheerful and very knowledgeable host who guided us through a delightful evening of great Andalucian food and wine. Throughout the evening, she gave us helpful hints and insights about the local culture and customs that served us well for the remainder of our holiday in Andalucia.

Great communication on booking the tour. Laura met us on time & we began the tour. All of the places we visited served great tapas that Laura ordered for us after finding out our preferences. We definitely tried some new dishes that we wouldn’t have chosen. Laura was very knowledgeable & great company. We both enjoyed our evening & would recommend this company & tour.

We spent 4 nights in Malaga which was a delight and a wonderful surprise of a City. Because we didn’t know it at all, and also happen to love good, local cuisine and food markets, we booked the Tapas & Markets tour for our first day so we could get our bearings and avoid wasting time getting lost!
We also liked the fact the tour group size can be small and personalised as there were only two of us (although they often work with larger groups of friends, families and corporate parties).
From the first point of enquiry, we were extremely impressed with the professional communications we received from Michael & Laura. Laura then met us at our hotel and off we went on a wonderful exploration of Malaga. From the get-go it was like meeting up with a good friend who knew the city and special places like the back of their hand and were just delighting in showing us all the best parts.
Laura was fantastic company and shared so much info and inside knowledge as we walked around the pretty lanes of Malaga.
We were first taken to a super family-run tapas restaurant where we were very happy to let Laura order and surprise us . Ahead of our meeting, we’d already submitted dietary requirements but then Laura had very cleverly gleaned from us what we liked, loved and didn’t much care for in our early chats and came up with some great dish selections that we would never have discovered on our own (the Sombrito was extremely special!) We also learnt about local wines and favourite Summer drinks which, when we ordered afterwards made us appear like Locals ;)
Next was a bar/restaurant with more of a contemporary fusion spin on tapas, which was sooo good as well.
Then onto the vibrant, colourful and buzzing food market, housed in a lovely building (don’t miss the beautiful stained glass window). Laura seemed to know all of the vendors really well and was so helpful in giving us tips of what to buy, how to cook things, the history of the market etc etc. It was so much nicer going round with someone who had these great relationships and could show us all the highlights. We bought some delicious almonds, amazing Serrano ham and anything else we could squeeze into our cases!
Our final stop was a beautiful tapas restaurant / vinoteca. Again, Laura knew the proprietor very well and we felt we were certainly receiving VIP treatment as a consequence :) More amazing food and wine followed and we were truly fit to burst.
After such a great time we were sorry it had to come to an end but we will definitely return to Malaga and have another tour and big catch up with Laura :)
We cannot recommend this company highly enough - Laura and Michael are absolute gems and know Malaga inside out.
Don’t hesitate to book and make it at the start of your visit if you can. We were then able to return to one of the restaurants on another evening and order our entire meal all over again as it was just soooo good!

Was given this tour as a retirement gift for our trip to Malaga. Didn’t know exactly what to expect, but just wish we did it our first days here. Laura is very knowledgeable and an absolute delight, and she made this a fabulous experience. Started in the “Market” where she explained the different cuisines of Spain. She introduced us to many new foods, and we sampled some of these with the various vendors. Then off to 3 different tapas bars, where she had us dine on multiple tapas that she chose for us, each one as tasty as the next. Also tried several different wines to complement the food. Thank you to my staff for this wonderful gift, and to Laura for a wonderful culinary adventure.

Incredible experience. Tapas so tasty that we ordered several and only had no more because there was no room in our stomachs. Unusual and full-flavored wine. Excellent service.

We tried to do the tour pre-covid so have waited 4 years and it most certainly didn't disappoint. Hubby is the foodie of the family and will eat anything, I'm the cautious / fussy one! From the outset we (I) trusted Michael and left him in charge of ordering. I found some of the food 'interesting', but was determined to try everything. He mixed up traditional tapas bars with modern fusion bars. His knowledge of Malaga, tapas and food is wide and varied. He's a charming and interesting man; four hours simply flew by. We enjoyed one of the tapas bars so much we returned before leaving Malaga. Would certainly recommend Tapas in Malaga and look forward to taking a tour again.

Michael was beyond awesome with our shore excursion extended tapas tour. His love for the city showed as he explained the history, culture, and beautiful sites. We explored 5 different restaurants each having something special. Michael’s detail to attention allowed him cater to our needs while extending our horizon. We honestly tried and enjoyed things out of comfort zone because of Michael.
We will most definitely take the same tour or another one with Michael in the near future.

Even if you done tapas bars before like myself and my wife you really can learn something new from this guys they are really well inform what new is happening with new recipes and where is the best place to try them We were quite impressed with local history knowledge and some of the gossip stories. To enjoy tapas you need good company of course and that was another surprise when we met our tour guide which sounds very formal but after few minutes we realized that we actually feel like we know Michel for many years and we just catching up for few tapas and drinks on Saturday afternoon What the great way to spend few hours browsing tapas bar with someone who is doing this since 2006 . One more very important thing to add no need to worry you will finish the tour hungry quite opposite ,

3 tapas tours in 3 years with TapasinMalaga.! I think that is endorsement enough. Each tour uniquely different. Michael and Lauras knowledge of the food, drink and the beautiful city of Malaga is fantastic. I have eaten and thoroughly enjoyed dishes that I would never have ordered. Plenty of food and drink - absolutely stuffed by the end. Definitely value for money. Both Michael and Laura are great company and I'm sure I will join them again on a tour.

We normally start the evening tour at 7.00 or 7.15pm depending on the number of people on our private tours. That said, we are very flexible so feel free to contact us by email and we will respond quickly.

We are always happy to have children and teenagers on our tours - in fact, just two nights ago I took a 12 year old (whom Mum described as a "picky" eater) on a tour with her parents and grandparents. Mum was amazed (and thrilled) that I got her to taste a few things during the course of the tour (and ordered her a couple of "special" plates just for her in a couple of bars. As our tours are completely private, we can adapt the tour to your needs (or those of your "teens") as we go along.

Hi GitB06. We have had many guests with mobility problems (one of the joys of Malaga is that it is flat). We do indeed tailor-make the tours to fit your needs and the tours are private we can move around at a pace that is suitable to you.
