An Authentic Experience!

We had the BEST time! We went to three different bars and enjoyed a different experience in each one. Relaxed, banter with the waiters, wonderful conversations on the food and the culture - we just can’t recommend this enough!

What was really fascinating was we saw a group of 10 people on a tapas tour and it was so different from what we were experiencing. They were marched in and quickly had some food and marched out. That wasn’t the experience I wanted. I wanted to understand why the tapas bars are such an important part of Spanish culture and I feel I experienced that.

Wasn't that a fun afternoon! Apologies for the big group... they follow and copy my tours without respect for the small cosy bars I go to. Happily they didn't stay long. I really loved that you guys were up to trying anything and were so inquisitive, lots of questions. Appreciate you taking time to write such a lovely review, thank you!

A terrific food tour

Shawn’s Triana Tapas Tour was a highlight of our trip to Spain. We spent several hours with Shawn visiting the Triana Market and several tapas bars. We started at the covered market with some icy cold Manzanila sherry with delicious jamon and cheese. After that, we visited three tapas bars, each quite different. At each spot, we had several different tapas along with wine or beer. Las Golondrinas was very unique with a delicious tapa of radishes in a cozy bar decorated lavishly with tiles. Shawn was a great guide with a wealth of knowledgeable, having lived in Sevilla for 30 years and immersing herself in the food scene. Shawn’s Website in very informative and she offered suggestions on bars and restaurants for other cities in Spain where we will go next. Overall, Shawn’s tours are highly recommended!

FIVE STARS!! Seville Food Tour - STOP looking you have found the best food tour in Seville (probaby the world). That's why they call her the "Tapas Queen". Seville is full of amazing food, culture and history. Shawn knows it all and is a great guide. Anyone can point out a good place in Seville, but Shawn goes the extra mile time and time again. We have been to Seville a few times and each time we take a food tour with Shawn. It's never the same thing twice. She cultivates an amazing evening of food, history and culture. Most other tours stop at the end of the evening. Well Shawn was amazing and helped guide us to other great Seville food locations the next day. She really knows Seville and is always willing to help navigate the food scene. We travel a great deal and have experienced food tours in many places around the world. Shawn is #1 in our hearts and stomachs. She can't be beat and we highly recommend her tour.

Wow Jason... thank you! I always say that I never make a great food tour happen all by myself, what really makes them special is when my guests are enthusiastic, curious and engaged. It's also very flattering when people come back to Sevilla and want me to take them out again. As you have found out Sevilla has so much to offer and I'm always happy to create a private experience to suit different interests and tastes. I really hope I get the chance to take you out again. I have been coming to Seville since the late 1980s and thought I knew the city and its food and drink pretty well. I learned so much more one afternoon tasting sherry wines and eating delicious tapas with Shawn. She has been a passionate sevillana for 30 years and has accumulated a vast trove of knowledge of its food, wine and restaurant scenes. On the tour I did, we visited 3 restaurants and tasted 6 different sherry wines paired with classic tapas and dessert. The owners of Seville's most classic bars all know and respect Shawn. Her tours are small and intimate, perfect for an afternoon in Seville. And check out her website for hundreds of reviews of tapa bars and restaurants throughout Seville and Andalusia.

The Sherry & Tapas Tour is often an eye opener and I loved that you guys were open to everything. Does anyone know the scene better?

Would recommend Shawn to anyone for her knowledge and experience - she's been doing this 'before it was cool.' Scheduling her for the first night was the best decision as we got a feel for the city, the restaurants, and information about the tapas. It made navigating everything by ourselves afterwards a walk in the park. We ended up using her website for recommendations throughout the rest of our trip, even as we went to places other than Seville.

Shawn is a great host! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of tapas and the tapas scene in Sevilla. She took us to three different restaurants/bars which were all a little bit different. It was more like spending an evening with an old friend. So much more personal than a large group situation. She even gave us a list of other places to try for the rest of our trip. Thanks again, Shawn.

Jamón, mushrooms, quai and sherry with a bit of history thrown in. What more could you want!

We went on a Tirana tapas tour in Seville with Shawn, we were four older chaps looking for tapas bars serving traditional Sevillian fayre and drinks. We meet in the market, just over the bridge, and started with some excellent jamón Iberico and sherry there.

From there, we wandered around the backstreets of Tirana, which is just like a Spanish village, stopping at various bars and getting a history lesson along the way.

I particularly like Las Golondrinas, I think it was called, where we had very garlicky mushrooms, extremely large radishes, and something called a cabalito which contained salty fired jamón. We also went to a bar where we had deep-fried quail, something I had never tried before and was delicious. All washed down with a few beers!

This was a fun and knowledgeable tour from Shawn and I would recommend anyone who comes to Seville and wants to know the history of the place, as well as eat great food, to do it

Gruff tour guide makes the delicious food distasteful

The tour started badly and got even weirder. When we greeted the tour guide outside of our first destination, my son politely offered his hand to the guide to shake. But instead of shaking my son’s hand like a normal person, she recoiled in horror, shrieked “don’t touch me!“ then turned around and ran into the restaurant. It was the most antisocial behavior I’ve seen from a tour guide in my life. The rest of the tour she proved argumentative and rude. I think she may not be in the right profession. The restaurants on the tour are nice, but not enough to make up for her weirdness.

Great start to our Seville visit

Shawn is great. She knows where to get the best tapas and her knowledge of local wines and sherry are terrific. We went to three different tavernas, and had a full meal by the end. She’s also very charming and fun to talk to, and this was a great way to start our visit to Seville. She also provided a list of her favorite restaurants in Seville, which has been very helpful!
