We saw an interesting exebition at CAAC in March 2023.
The place is worth a visit;

Een hele tippel om er te komen, naar onze smaak maar een hand vol interessante werken. Bewegwijzering abominabel, zijn terug naar de receptie moeten lopen om de ingang te vinden waar een norse man wat gebaren maakte. Geen enkele uitleg bij de oude keramiek fabriek. Er is een barretje, het herentoilet was viezig.

Visitato il sabato, giorno in cui l’entrata è gratuita, oltre alle strutture permanenti erano presenti tre mostre distinte di cui un paio interessanti. Raggiungibile facilmente con il bus C1 anche se in zona un po’ isolata sulla sponda ovest del fiume , non è molto frequentato, perlomeno nel periodo in cui sono stato io a gennaio, molto interessante anche la struttura antica che lo ospita con delle ciminiere in mattoni.

Fundado en febrero de 1990 con la intención de dotar a la Comunidad Autónoma de una institución apropiada para la investigación, conservación, promoción y difusión del arte contemporáneo. Posteriormente, se empezaron a adquirir obras con la idea de ir dando los primeros pasos en la configuración de una colección permanente de arte contemporáneo.
En 1997, el Monasterio de la Cartuja se convirtió en la sede del centro, un paso decisivo en su evolución.
Esta cartuja alberga actualmente el centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo ha sido desarrollar un programa de actividades que, con una clara intención educativa, trata de promover el estudio y el fomento de la creación artística contemporánea internacional en sus más variadas expresiones. Exposiciones temporales, seminarios, talleres, conciertos, encuentros, recitales, ciclos de cine, conferencias... han sido las herramientas de comunicación utilizadas para llevar a cabo este propósito dentro de sus 17 salas.
La oferta cultural del centro se complementa con la visita al propio monumento que alberga un importante patrimonio artístico y arqueológico, producto de su dilatada historia.

We had a lovely week in Seville early November. You can still stroll around in the evenings just with a cardigan.
Of course the catedral and Real Alcazar. No question about that.
But 3 palaces should not be missed. Casa de Pilatos, palazzo Duena, and my own favourite palazzo de Labrica. Home to the late duchesa de Labrica. A great admirer of roman mosaics. So she took them home from escavations of the Roman city, Italica! But they sure look great in the palace. The art museum is rather nice. If you have a walking disability, do not hesitate to get a wheelchair. You do not have to be a complete invalide. It will help you so much to get through the day. Also worth a visit. Setas. The modern enormous construction filling a whole square. And the food is great great great. And they really know their tapas. Enjoy

The museum for modern art is located at the other side of the river in a former ceramic factory. You cane take city bus 2C going straight to the place. The buildings are fantastic and the exhibitions really worth to visit. So: get away from the city centre and enjoy modern art in amazing surroundings.

Située sur le site de l'exposition universelle de 1992, le Caac est un peu excentré mais mérite la visite pour découvrir des artistes espagnols. L'ancien monastère où fut enterré durant quelques années Christophe Colomb accueille aujourd'hui des expositions temporaires permettant de découvrir principalement des artistes espagnols.
Les œuvres modernes viennent parfaitement s'intégrer dans ce bâtiment religieux qui offre aussi de grands espaces.
Billet d'entrée 1,80€.

When you’re tired of seeing churches and palaces, come here for an eclectic mix of new and old. The exhibition space is an interesting place for contemporary works. Whether you like the actual art or not the juxtaposition is thought provoking - the monastery, the ceramic factory, the current world. We didn’t get to see the permanent collection. Beware - if walking the maps might take you to the footpath entrance that is currently under construction. This place needs a bump in ratings for sure.

Excitig both in terms of modern art and the premises that house the museum.Whether you like the current exhibition of contemporary art or not it´s worth the trip. In a city littered with historical monuments, a bit of avant-garde art was liberating.Very informative staff at the checkout

Destaca el complejo de edificios, patios y jardines que no tienen nada que ver con el destino que se le da. Destaca la falta de unidad y coherencia que se siente al recorrer el lugar. Espacio exterior desaprovechado donde destaca la poca presencia de obras, espacio que seguro que estudiantes de Bellas Artes de Sevilla estarían encantados de aprovechar.
Dentro, de las 4 exposiciones temporales que se presúntamente podríamos ver, sólo 2 estaban habilitadas debido obras o reformas.
Al entrar en el "centro de arte contemporáneo" te encuentras con un retablo ... wtf!!!
Luego, como no, dentro de las obras de arte te encuentras cosas que sorprenden para bien,como la figura gigante de Alicia. Por supuesto tampoco van a faltar las basuras típicas del "arte"conceptual como un árbol con 2 bombillas, 3 flexos encendidos... siempre con la explicación de la obra. Explicaciones cuyo significado es tan difuso, que podrías intercambiar las explicaciones de una obra por otra y nadie se coscaría.
¿Cuándo fue el momento dónde el absurdo pasó de ser considerado humor a ser considerado arte?
Dentro, de las 4 exposiciones temporales que se presúntamente podríamos ver, sólo 2 estaban habilitadas debido obras o reformas.
