Spectacular view and very well maintained beach. It has no services or showers, but as a beach there is nothing to reproach.

At low tide it is perfect for walking, sunbathing and bathing.
Parking is simple, eating and drinking areas very nice.
At high tide, the sand area is reduced by half, if there is a good day there is a lot of influx of people.
There are hammocks for rent in the area of stairs 13 and 14.
On the last staircase of the square, there is a dog-friendly area

One of the most emblematic beaches in Asturias and the most famous in Gijón. It has a lot of amplitude (as long as the tide is low) and is usually quite clean

We have been surprised by the beach, we expected the very cold water, and not so, it was very good despite the tight weather that has made us.
Fine sand, very quiet, super professional lifeguards. It has full-length shower and feet.
The bad luck is that for 3 days that we were going, we have been bellowed by the air show, the day of rehearsal and the day of the show the beach is closed (on a Friday and a Sunday) And to finish the work on Saturday afternoon, good thing that when we were leaving, they forbid bathing by jellyfish.

Un. Fantastic sand, if not for Rescue (bathroom restrictors), between them and surf schools you do not have available for bathing or half the beach. It wasn't like that years ago.

The beach is great for swimming and taking a walk in the morning, but, starting at midday, it disappears at times with the rise of the tide so that all the people move to the right.
It's overcrowded. The water is frozen (it is Cantabrian) but there are usually waves to play around a little.
The walk along the beach is wonderful.

For one day when we visited Gijón we got caught in the rain..., but it doesn't matter, with umbrellas in hand we didn't miss the opportunity to walk along the shore of the beach. The truth is that it is a huge beach, beautiful and even raining, with a lot of life. There were people bathing and everything. A walk that is difficult to forget. Highly recommended.
