Unlike the great cities of the world there is not a large variety of places to visit in Las Palmas, so a visit to the cathedral will be included on most people’s lists. The best part is the view from the rooftop via a lift, which is included in the entrance fee.

At the centre of Vegueta, Plaza de Santa Ana is a gem. With the cathedral at one end, the Casas Consistoriales at the other end and beautiful colonial architecture up the two long sides, this is a lovely place to come to soak up the atmosphere.
Also interesting are the life-size bronze sculptures of several Canarian dogs.

Ihanan avara aukio kapeiden katujen ja lähekkäin lymyilevien vanhojen rakennusten keskellä. Minkälaisia tapahtumia täällä mahtaakaan olla? Päädyimme aukiolle vähän vahingossa. Olimme ensin käyneet sisällä museossa ja katedraalissa (käynti oikealta sivukadulta). Jos haluat päästä hissillä ylös katolle, niin sinne käynti on oikean puoleisimman holvikaaren alta. Ohjeet katsottaessa julkisivua aukealta käsin.
Olisi kadun ympärille mahtunut useampiakin kahviloita.
