Well worth a visit. Anyone with a slight interest in Military history will enjoy this

First points of convenience. Museum has own free car park and no charge for admittance and a nice restaurant looking over the harbour.
i had not heard of this Museum before but it is well worth visiting. We spend two hours going around. It covers a lot including the Americas and the link between Canary Islands and North and South America. It covers extensively the British under Nelson arriving in Tenerife in 1797. Also some items from Irish Wild Geese and General O Donnell. The museum has a large range of various guns on display, It also has tanks various military vehicles all forms of anti tank weapons etc. Any one interested in Military history this is a must.
The museum is located in the old fort and is very picturese.
Ate in the restaurant. Short menu but good quality food.
Found the staff very friendly.

Free military museum.

Wow what a museum.
This is the best military museum that I've visited in all my travels.
This place is a must if you are into military.
So much to see.
Take your time.
And best of all it's FREE.

Magnifique Almeyda, Museo Histórico Militar de Canarias

Un superbe musée à ne rater sous aucun prétexte ! Du mousqueton aux hélicoptères en passant par l'une des 300 machines ENGIMA (cryptage/decryptage) utilisées avant et pendant la deuxième guerre mondiale. De superbes maquettes didactiques, dont une, magnifique, expliquant la bataille de Santa Cruz, la stratégie de l'amiral Horatio Nelson jusqu'à sa défaite. L'histoire de la défense de Tenerife et des Canaries, des uniformes, les fortifications dans leurs états d'origine, bref un superbe musée, avec une information de qualité (bilingue ES / EN), dispensée par le personnel civil et les indications.
Pour vous y rendre, ne perdez pas votre temps à chercher une place de parking, le musée en contient en suffisance, il suffit d'y entrer avec la voiture ! Parking gratuit, entrée gratuite, et cafétéria sont les bons plans à retenir.

Great Historical museum

Great museum covering Spanish military history and the history of Santa Cruz. Many exhibits indoors and outside. Entrance is free and you can easily spend over 2 hours there

Interesting items Suitable for all age groups

Visted 5 years ago but wanted to visit again. Very well presented. Interesting items. A lot of written descriptions in English. More are being added
We only visited the inside (1 1/2 hrs) as had a bus to catch. Lots more to see outside and a cafe but we didn’t have time

Enriquecedora visita.

Después de leer comentarios íbamos con muchas expectativas. No nos defraudó, al contrario. Una magnífica visita llena de historia, en muchos casos desconocida. Tuvimos la suerte de contar, al haber poco público, con algunas explicaciones que nos pudo dar el oficial que estaba en la entrada, sobre la historia del recinto, piezas, incursiones, etc.. Disfrutamos y aprendimos muchísimo. Por ello y por el trato recibido le damos las gracias,

Sehenswert!

Gut gemacht Sammlung. Nicht die wissenschaftlichste Aufarbeitung, aber mit viel Liebe gestaltet. Sehenswert!
Für einen Rückgang haben wir etwas über zwei Stunden gebraucht.
