Experiencia inolvidable, desde la visita a las viñas hasta la comida, pasando por el tour por la bodega. El equipo de la bodega, desde José Félix hasta Yasmine, en primera línea, hasta la cocina, insuperable, nos regalaron una experiencia que no olvidaremos.

Although they are one of the biggest producers of Rioja, they care about the wine quality and make their own barrels.Satisfied with tour and tasting, our guide was pretty good, told everything ambitiously. Torre Muga and Prado Enea are very well balanced, powerfull but elegant, complex samples of Rioja. I couldn't taste Aro because they serve it at 12.00 and we had another reservation. So I have no idea about price/performance, but winery and wines are impressive and absolutely worth to visit.

Second winery of three, no one at welcome desk. Arrived with no reservations and attendant who finally came out was not overly friendly. It was difficult to get names or recommendations from her, as if she could not be bothered. Left and spent money at the other places.

This is a copy of an email I sent the Muga Family. We would highly recommend the Bodegas Muga.
Dear Muga Family
We have just spent a wonderful lunch time tasting wines and eating food at your courtyard restaurant.
We even met one of the Muga family. See attached photos.
She was most welcoming and although we couldn’t speak Spanish we very much enjoyed meeting her. Please pass on our thanks and gratitude to her for her hospitality.

Although I don’t drink wine I found the English speaking tour very interesting indeed. Our guide certainly knew all about processing wine and showed us around the whole site which culminated in wine tasting three samples and we got to keep a large wine glass each. She also spoke excellent English.
I’d certainly recommend the tour at Muga.
And of course you get to buy the wine you sample and other wines produced on site!

Was there with my wife, my sister and her husband last weekend. We had a tour and then a full lunch paired with wines in one of their private dining rooms. Overall the experience was absolutely fantastic. One small area where they could improve is explaining a bit more about the wines during lunch and why each type of wine goes better with this or that food. Another area to pay a bit of attention is maybe spending a bit more time on talking about wine and less about oak barrels. Said that, one thing to highlight is the real passion that our tour guide had for everything around the wine and barrels production process. Unfortunately don't recall her name, but she was simply amazing. You can tell that the Muga Family takes a lot of pride of producing their own barrels and the process from sourcing the wood to finalizing the product is very, very complicated. I learned a lot. Our tour guide was so passionate into it that her enthusiasm was contagious !!!! The premises are amazing, great setting, good mix between modern and traditional, and during the nearly 2 hours of tour you get a very good perspective of how complicated is to product good quality wine.
Of course that the star of the tour was the wine !!!!! We tried a few of them and are really excellent.

If you go to Rioja and don't visit Muga, it's like going to Paris and not seeing the Effiel Tower. We were a group of 12 friends, we visited + food. As soon as you arrive at the winery, and see the building from the outside, you begin to realize that you are in a historic winery in the world of wine, and when you begin the visit you are transported back in time to its beginnings, when you see its foudres of more than 100 years, how in France they choose the oaks that will become barrels, that will provide unique nuances to their wines, wines that represent a generational history of the family, which year after year, are seeking the excellence that they achieve in their wines, with a lot of work and effort and above all passion, a lot of passion.
After the visit to the winery, we went to the private dining room that we had been assigned, a spectacular round table, a lit wood fireplace, and a menu as delicious as its wines, made us delight and enjoy this experience immensely. But if something else must be highlighted, it is the treatment of the winery staff, both during the visit and in the dining room, they made us feel at home. From this, Muga wines will always be with us....Thank you very much!!

We were at Muga's wine bar terrace, we were the only ones because it was early and Monday, the sommelier José Díez attended us, from whom we initially asked for a Crianza. The sommelier then served us a tasting of three wines, reserve and two signature wines, accompanied by a good explanation of them, having a very pleasant time. Thank you
