Valencia Sistine chapel

Having visited the Sistine chapel in Rome I have to say I prefer St Nicholas. The decor is a sight to behold and words will never do it justice. The craftsmanship is beyond comprehension and how long it must have taken is staggering.
This was my favourite attraction in the city. The entrance is round the back of the church and not in the plaza

A good stop in Valencia

This church is a bit pricey for spending such a short time there, but it contains a great deal of history and artifacts. This attraction did have many people inside, I am assuming it is a stop for cruisers. Try to go on days when ships are not in port!

Siamo stati in visita alla chiesa con guida locale. Veramente bella e va apprezzato il lavoro che viene svolto per la conservazione ed il mantenimento della chiesa.

Bedingt zu empfehlen

Normalerweise gehe ich nicht in Kirchen, wenn der Eintritt nicht gratis ist. Sogar der Vatikan ist kostenlos. Da ich aber einen Gutschein hatte, bin ich dann doch rein.

Die Kirche ist überraschend klein, aber doch beeindruckend. Aber den Eintrittspreis wäre es mir nicht wert gewesen.

Simply stunning, the level of detail on the frescoes and the colors are outstanding. A must if you are visiting Valencia.

No lines to skip; San Nicholas magnificent
We absolutely loved San Nicholas. It is a true treasure. It is reminiscent of the Sistine Chapel with every square inch of ceiling covered with magnificent frescoes. The Silk Museum was not of great interest to us and the other church was under renovation to such a degree there was no way to get a sense of it. Most importantly this was advertised as a skip the line trio of tickets. There were no lines in any of these venues. We could have walked in off the street. That said, San Nicholas was not to be missed and was worth the admission ticket for all three.

Stunning

This place is amazing, the architecture, paintings and history that is in this building is fantastic. The entrance to the church is hard to find, not signposted well but we just followed all the other visitors who were looking for it, glad we did as this was worth the visit. Expect to get a creak in your neck from looking up all the time, the audio is interesting and easy to listen to. I saw a few people walk away after being told the price, I think this is well worth the price as it must cost a fortune to maintain and restore this building on a yearly basis. The gift shop was closed the day we were there.

Bastante impactante por su abundante decoración de pinturas al techo y capillas. Mejor con autoguia. Le llaman la Capilla Sixtin
Merece la pena visitar con audioguía y escuchar las buenas explicaciones. Impresiona en su conjunto por la densidad de sus pinturas

Tener que pagar 10 euros para visitar una iglesia de una sola nave donde lo único interesante es la bóveda, me parece excesivo. Por otra parte, se trata de una parroquia abierta al culto, por lo que la entrada tenía ser libre y nadie debería de tener que pagar para poder entrar a un lugar en donde está Jesús Sacramentado.

El día de culto es el lunes, por lo que es el dedicado exclusivamente a culto y a oficios. El resto de semana, tiene un horario amplio de 10.30-19.30 en el que hay un amplio equipo de mediadores culturales y audioguias incluidas en el precio de la visita. Muchas gracias por su visita.
