I wish I could say otherwise, but this was possibly the worse tour I’ve ever been on. Our English speaking guide didn’t really speak English and seemed so challenged to lead a two-hour tour.
Our group had two work with each other to piece together what we understood he might be saying. I think everyone was feeling underwhelmed.
I’m sure if you had the same guide for Italian speakers he would have been fine.

Guided tour above our expectations.
Simone has illustrated in a short time, the history of the stones, transmitting to us his passion for the work he does.

The Guide was very knowledgeable and helpful to answer all questions. The tour is interesting and gives you an idea of Matera. Certainly a tour like this is not enough to see everything, also because different places have quite strict schedules. Too bad the visit to the cathedral is not included, it would have been useful to know better what was included and what was not.

Grazie per la sua recensione, ne faremo tesoro per migliorare, però nello stesso tempo Le volevo ricordare che nella descrizione del tour quando ha prenotato non è mai stato incluso l'ingresso nella Cattedrale. Per quanto riguarda il tour guidato, se voleva un tour più completo poteva prenotare anche quello di 4 Ore al costo di 40€ a persona.

Really pleasant tour, very good Guide, able to involve and explain well without weighing down with unnecessary notions. The complete route takes about 2 hours to do entirely on foot. We did it at 10am in August so in "extreme" weather conditions but it was absolutely worth it. The tour price also included entrance to the church and cave house.

Beautiful tour in this exciting city. Simone was very attentive and professional. Highly recommended tour to start learning about this reality that seems suspended in a distant time.
