How not to enjoy the view of the Riace Bronzes? a show not to be missed, the museum also offers an interesting exhibition that is definitely worth a visit.

Museums were once didactic, now they are interactive, beyond the importance of Bronzes, the National Museum seems to have fossilized.
Interesting finds, good posters, but the exhibition is a list, even if valid of finds resting on nothing where it is impossible to art rare cases understand the context.

Museum very well organized. The strong point is certainly the Riace Bronzes, which are really valued and deserve a visit to this Museum alone.
However, all the other rooms that celebrate Magna Graecia should not be underestimated. Many exhibits, with well done explanations and top organization.
Clean and well maintained.
Highly recommended!

The National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria is one of the landmarks for lovers of the Greek era and in particular for the area of Magna Grecia. Several exhibition rooms and putting the Riace Bronzes part, the content is appreciable even for non-fans.

We went to see mainly the Riace Bronzes, but were positively impressed by the usability of the museum. All well explained. The staff present were courteous.

Nice, modern, clean and easily accessible. The guides present are prepared friendly and always available in explanations. They illustrate how the route is structured, which is a real walk from prehistory to Magna Graecia through finds found in our peninsula and exhibited in a coherent way. Beautiful reconstructions and digital maps.
Special mention for the Bronzes that are almost “magical”.
Fortunately for us there was also a temporary exhibition dedicated to the Bronzes of San Casciano. Fascinating: a video room explains in a simple but complete way what we will find on display and their meaning: crossing the corridor the exhibition hall becomes so exciting.
A recommended experience.

A total disaster the organization. With tickets pre-purchased online the queue was unacceptable and unmanageable anyway. After confronting dozens of angry people we had to give up. Wasted money. That's too bad. The Museum of Incompetence

Wonderful , we came to see the Riace Bronzes but the visit started from the top of the museum , four floors of beautiful archeological finds but the highlight of the visit were the Riace Bronzes .

Very beautiful museum in archaeology, rich in many pieces, including the famous bronzes of Riace. The museum is spread over three floors.

A museum that offers the opportunity to learn about all the Greek poleis of Calabria and the most important indigenous wine and buzz settlements identified so far thanks to an effective and modern layout.
The Riace Bronzes are clearly the 'magnet' and constitute the main Attraction but we must not overlook the real gems present in the display cases of the museum. Very helpful and kind staff at the ticket office, unfortunately the same cannot be said of the custodians assigned to the management of contingent visits (only 5 minutes) to the Bronze Room. Annoyed and annoying staff, bordering on (good) manners. I understand the daily influx but, in these cases, we must focus on young people trained and equipped with appropriate skills.
