Grazie davvero

fantastic underground experience, great tour and value for money. Arrived by bus 204 from Via Toledo (1.3€ single fare), bought tickets for catacombe online earlier that day (very easy to make purchase). less than an hour tour, bit great story and experience. when you buy San Gennaro catacombe ticket, you get free entry for other catacombs nearby. tricky part is to return, recomend to walk back with the guide and catch same bus that you arrived with.

I visited the catacombs with my husband and they were quite beautiful. For those nervous about claustrophobia not to worry. They are not at all like the catacombs of Rome. The spaces are quite large, with very high ceilings.
Our guide Serena was lovely, knowledgeable, and very passionate about the catacombs, history and importance of San Genaro and this site for Naples. Making it all the more worth while is knowing your visit goes to help a cooperative of young, bright, energetic guides, that with your visit, help to revitalize what was previously a neighborhood in decline. I can’t say enough about the experience. And I myself am a tour guide and not easily impressed. Thank you Serena. Keep up the great work!

Visiting the catacombs is definitely a great experience, especially with the guided tour. In an hour you discover many things, and you explore ravines that I found really special.
Applause for the Guide and the social project behind the site.

A wonderful place to see, the guys who act as Guide belong to a social cooperative that helps the kids of the Sanità district to grow up in the legality and believe in their dreams.

A really fascinating place to visit, offering an engaging mix of the mythology and history of Napoli’s ancient and recent past. Antonio was a great guide with excellent English.
The modern, on-site cafe also had a good selection of reasonably priced food and drinks on offer
Not only a great piece of local history but also a brilliant social enterprise, challenging perceptions and bringing a hopeful spark to a little-regarded part of the city.

An incredible reality, born from a difficult neighborhood that is managing to excel in the city and in the world. Going beyond the wonderful visit of an incredible cultural heritage, the passion of the guides and the affordable rates, the ideal they carry on as Cooperativa La Paranza amazes and moves (a great applause to our knowledgeable and humane Guide Emanuele).
Yet another demonstration of how, through the right educational figures and ideas of people who care about young people, believe in their potential by betting on it, wonderful realities can be created by redeveloping areas and people in the areas most abandoned by the State, not consistent with the principles of worker protection and citizen equity.

One day in mid-August, taking advantage of a semi-desert Naples, with my partner we decided to visit this site. We bought online tickets for the guided tour directly from the official website, at a price of 13 euros, but also including the entrance to the Catacombs of San Gaudioso in the Sanità district, with a year to visit them. Fortunately, it is not necessary to print tickets purchased online, but simply download them to your smartphone and have them validated at the ticket office. The site is accessible from Capodimonte (where the Church of Good Recommendation is located) and has an unattended parking, a bar and a meeting point where you can wait for the departure of the booked guided tour. The walk in the underground of Naples was fascinating and suggestive, the geometries of the environments and the lighting created are the real strength, in addition to the Guide's stories about Naples and the Patron Saint San Gennaro. The Guide was a very young and helpful girl, from the Sanità district, who was excited to be able to participate and contribute to the project to re-emerge the Sanità district where she was born and lives. The site is for the most part a dense lattice carved into the tuff, where you can glimpse the basilicas around which it developed and the rediscovered tomb of San Gennaro, as well as admire what remains of the frescoes and mosaics that lined the tombs of the wealthiest characters. The cool temperature in the catacombs also gave us some refreshment from the great heat of that day. It 'a walk not at all tiring that takes you into the bowels of the city of Naples!

Yes, with one ticket you can visit both catacombs of Naples. You buy the first experience, San Gennaro or San Gaudioso, the other is for free ;)

How far is this from cruise port? And what is the best way to travel there (bus/taxi)?
撰写日期:2023年4月26日
Best check google maps for distance but taxi would be my recommendation. Not expensive and much more reliable.

È possibile accedere alle catacombe con un cane di piccola taglia?

Conviene contattare l'Associazione La Paranza ma temo di no.

Hi There, the San Genaro catacombs took over an hour but it can be longer depending on how inquisitive the guests are. Then a walk to the Gaudioso took 15 mins. The Gaudioso catacombs are only open in the morning so we couldn’t take the visit but it might be the same. Hope it helps.

Hello, is it suitable for a visit with a toddler and a stroller? Are there too many stairs and dangerous corners down there?

From the official website: An experience accessible to all
The Catacombs of San Gennaro are the only site of their kind in the world that is fully accessible.
In 2009 a decision was made, together with the Tutti a Scuola association, to remove all the architectural barriers and to create walkways and ramps, so that the site could be accessible to everyone.
