My sister, my cousin and I took the Pizza making class with chef Francesco Civita. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Definitely recommend making the trip to Anacapri, a perfect setting to learn about pizza making and food in general.

This is a fantastic time in a beautiful garden in Ana Capi, Francesco and Anna treat you like family and welcome you into their outdoor pizza kitchen. We had the most amazing appetizer they used to feed to the orphans after the war, fried dough with fresh margarita tomatoes and olive oil with salt and garlic, so delicious and the pizza is out of this world! They teach you why the difference there and what makes their pizza so special. It was one of our best experiences in Italy and definitely the best pizza! You must go do this! 👌🥂

Siamo stati da Francesco per imparare i segreti per fare la vera pizza napoletana. Il posto è incantevole (ad Anacapri). Francesco “sa il fatto suo”… ci ha spiegato i particolari sul forno, su tutti gli ingredienti e sulla la procedura per fare un’ottima pizza.
Abbiamo imparato a preparare l’impasto (che doveva crescere per più ore quindi l’abbiamo portato a casa), e poi con l’impasto fatto da lui il giorno prima, ognuno ha formato, condito e infornato la propria pizza, che è risultata favolosa!

La lezione si svolge nella loro cucina all’aperto super attrezzata con un bellissimo forno, frigoriferi e tutto il necessario.

A metà lezione Francesco ci ha fatto vedere come si preparano gli scugnizzieli e li abbiamo degustati come antipasto.
Abbiamo fatto l’assaggio dei diversi tipi di mozzarella e di pomodori.
Alla fine della lezione abbiamo degustato le nostre pizze abbinate alle bevande che preferivamo.
Abbiamo imparato molto e apprezzato tutti i suoi preziosi consigli.
Francesco ed Anna sono stati gentilissimi, super attenti ed ospitali.
È stata un’esperienza fantastica per tutta la mia famiglia! Grazie!

My son and I had the most wonderful experience learning to make pizza. Francesco was so accommodating. Both he and the master pizza chef Fabio were kind and took the time to help us improve. We learned a lot, ate a lot, and laughed even more. A perfect time.

We had a truly unforgettable Napoli pizza making class today with Eat in Italy Food Tours. This class was held in a restaurant setting with views from the kitchen over the Bay of Naples. The class starts calmly before the main staff arrives so you can get acquainted to the pizza making space in front of the dual 800F domed ovens.

While learning about the different flours, cheeses and type of tomatoes from pizzaiolo Francesco Civita, you get a sense of the vibrance of the restaurant as the staff arrives along with the fresh food and fish deliveries. The focus of the pizza making class is on the new Neopolitan style pizza with the thick outer crust and thin middle crust that bends.

With additional help from third-generation pizzaiolo Dilan, there were many nuances we learned to making pizza that varied greatly from the typical recipes found in America. Starting with the right flour and the correct amount of water & yeast, we were surprised by that the correct cheese is not mozzarella di bufala (too much mositure). Then, it was the sauce - just canned “Italian tomatoes” (no the cans of San Marzano are not real) with a little salt (where’s all the spices?). Last, we learned about oven heat, cooked time and pizza rotation. The golden crust came from the 800F (425C) oven temperature and only took about a minute or so too bake (don’t let the cheese brown or the crust burn). The bonus was learning a few trick to achieve golden crust in the 450F temperature of our regular home oven.

Both pizzaiolos were very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. We can’t wait to get home to try out what we have learned during our Napoli pizza making class with Eat in Italy Food Tours!

We loved this! We came to Naples specifically to eat and learn how to make pizza, so this was something we were looking forward to. We were the only 2, so it ended up being a private class! Serena was a wonderful guide and interpreter, as our master pizza chef only spoke Italian. The class was in a modern facility with many local ingredients available to purchase. We started with coffee and a tour of the local produce, pastries, and merchandise. The only thing I wish was part of the tour was the option to taste some of the local goodies that were being explained. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Our pizzas turned out delicious! It was very informative and and I would definitely recommend it as a must do in Naples!

MUST BOOK!!

We booked this on our last day in Naples, and what a high to end our trip on!

This workshop was absolutely brilliant - you will get to try all sorts of antipasti, and wine, and of course, making your own pizza and enjoying it afterwards!

Susy was the most enthusiastic, fluent and informative guide ever. Her assistant Francesca was really great too, even though she was anxious as it was only her 2nd day! We learnt a lot about the culture and history of Napoli (and the pizza!) and the surrounding areas as well.

I would 100% recommend this tour, it was really the highlight of our trip!

We had a private pizza making class at Eccellenze Campane in Naples. What an experience for our three families! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was great and so patient with our big group! The antipasto, the wine, the fried dough and the Margherita pizza was more delicious than we imagined! Truly a bucket list item!

My partner and I signed up for the class last minute (a few days before) but everything was fine. The class went well and we learned so much from their team. We had the chance to be hands on with each phase of the process and eat a few samples alomg the way. Everyone was super kind and very patient and made it an extremely enjoyable experience. If you are in Naples I reccomend you stop by, if not for a class at least to eat, have some good drinks, and enjoy the rest of the restaurant space

My partner and I took this pizza class on our first morning in Naples and were not disappointed, we were lucky to be the only people in the class (though I think it would be fun with more people too). Our guide Susy was really friendly and knowledgable and talked us through the whole process, chef Pasquale was friendly too despite the language barrier (our terrible Italian!) and he clearly knew his stuff. I don't think we quite got the job in the pizza restaurant but our results weren't half bad at all. Susy even showed us where to find a few local sites after the class and told us some local history, it was lovely. We would 100% recommend this class.
