Our quartet of travelers wanted to add Venice to our 3 week tour of Northern Italy. After talking to Liz at Italy Hotline she suggested the private 4 hour 'Venice City Highlights' tour and I'm very happy she did. We had a wonderful experience with Vilma as our local guide. She has an extensive knowledge of Venice's complex history which added to our adventure. Not only did we see the famous parts of the city, she was able to navigate off-the-beaten-track side alleys which bypassed the larger hordes of tourists who roam the city. We even got a discount at a local coffee shop where Vilma knows the owners!
Highly recommended.

Incredible experience highly recommend. The team did such a great job really showing me the landscape of Rome and explaining the complex history thru Architecture. Overall an incredible experience.

We had a splendid tour at night with Ulisse in Florence. His knowledge was quite impressive. Ended our evening with a lovely wine tasting. Highly recommend Elisabeth and Ulisse as they took the time to speak with us and tailor our tour to our needs. Thank you for a lovely time in Florence.

We had a wonderful time in Rome and Frascati doing an in home cooking class! It was such a special and fun experience to be welcomed into Chef Jo’s home. It was incredibly thoughtfully planned right down to the picnic on the Appian way complete with Roman snacks and cold Prosecco! The food we learned to cook and eat was delicious as were the local wine pairings. Can’t wait to make some of our recipes again! Thank you Elizabeth and Jo!!

We have not long come back from an amazing 5 1/2 week holiday to Italy, thankfully planned by Elisabeth from Italy Hotline. I had a rough idea of the places we wanted to visit which seemed quite over whelming as we didn't want to drive over there and it was an extensive itinerary to Venice, Lake Garda, Cinque Terre, Tuscany, Umbria and Amalfi Coast. I found Elisabeth online and so grateful that I did, she helped with all the planning by organising tours, transfers with drivers, train tickets and beautiful boutique hotels/apartments through so many emails back and forth. Elisabeth was so patient and understanding with any concerns or queries that I had and answered very promptly, any suggestions she made were spot on. Our drivers were all friendly and helpful with their local knowledge, also a big shout out to Nadia who gave us a fun and entertaining guide to Venice. Elisabeth also contacted us regularly on our trip to find out how things were going and to keep us updated on everything. I cannot recommend Italy Hotline highly enough.
Thank you again Elisabeth for all your time and effort into making our dream holiday come true, it was lovely to meet you and your husband.

This is my second time traveling to Italy working with Italy Hotline. Elizabeth is amazing and she goes out of her way to make sure she plans the vacation of YOUR dreams. From the initial phone "interview to get to know us and our travel vision" to the finished itinerary, she planned the most authentic accommodations, unique tour suggestions and bests in each region of our trip.
Elizabeth is very easy to work with - she really wants to create individualized experiences based on your interests - not a Rick Steves (no offense) itinerary. She helped us with our accommodations and selected the most unique places from a B&B to an agriturismo to a villa - and she worked within our budget.
Elizabeth has "experts" in different regions of Italy who offer private tours. Orginally, I was going to skip any tours BUT I am so HAPPY I decided to do one tour per region. This is what makes Italy Hotline stand out and what made our trip so amazing. We toured with Natalia in Venice, Antonella in Tuscany and Francesca in Rome. We learned history, culture, arts and most importantly for us - FOODS!
Elizabeth and her team of professionals are organized, knowledgeable, prompt with communication, friendly, trustworthy and go above and beyond to exceed your expectations. We are so happy that we were able to meet Elizabeth, her husband and her dog for Spritz's during our trip.
We highly recommend Italy Hotline and we can't wait to plan our next visit!

Elisabeth organized an excellent cooking class for my friend and I. We had a hands on cooking class with the chef at his restaurant. He paired wine with experience and the food we made. He was very patient and took his time with us during this hands on class. I highly recommend this experience!

And for potential guests out there, this cooking class takes place near Arezzo & Cortona, so if you would like to explore, taste, and imbibe the best of this part of Tuscany, do get in touch! We planned a trip to Italy in June 2018 with visits to Rome, Umbria, and my ancestors' hill towns in Abruzzo. Elisabeth helped me over MANY patient emails craft a fabulous trip for our family. She encouraged me to combine a nice amount of downtime and relaxation in our villa in Umbria with sightseeing. Everything she advised was correct! She had fabulous suggestions. I am a big trip researcher, and she listened to what I said and added to it.
She planned all drivers, a villa, tours with private guides, hotels, cooking classes, a truffle hunting tour....whatever you can want or imagine...and more.
And, she was always kind with any changes that we wanted...even while in Italy. She was in touch daily.
I would use her again in a heartbeat.
If you are overwhelmed with planning or even know exactly what you want, you will not be disappointed. It was worth it to use her.
She has a great knowledge of Italy, and a great network of travel experts around the regions.
I would be astonished if you were not totally satisfied.
She planned all drivers, a villa, tours with private guides, hotels, cooking classes, a truffle hunting tour....whatever you can want or imagine...and more.
And, she was always kind with any changes that we wanted...even while in Italy. She was in touch daily.
I would use her again in a heartbeat.

This review is long overdue! We used Italy Hotline and Custom Tours to help us with our excursion days while on a Mediterranean cruise. Elisabeth made all of the arrangements for us beforehand and was wonderful. I was very worried about the meals since we have several food allergies (peanuts, tree nuts and sesame) as well as celiac disease (gluten-free) in the family. Not to mention the fact that our kids, all boys ages 6, 9 and 11 would be on their feet for 6-8 hours for each tour. Needless to say, we were incredibly happy and beyond thrilled with our guides for both Rome and Florence, the restaurants they chose and the overall experience in each city.
Grazia was out guide in Rome. She did an amazing job of engaging the kids and keeping the tour exciting for them. Rome was stunning and we were all in awe. For Florence, Lise was our guide. We also went to Pisa in the morning with our driver, Lorenzo, who was great. Lise had an exceptional talent of bringing the streets of Florence to life for our young boys. We absolutely adored her. We dined at Ciro & Sons which was incredibly delicious and accommodating to all of our dietary restrictions. We would highly recommend anyone using this tour company. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Italy Hotline proved to be a wonderful investment for our two-week dream vacation in Italy. I had previously booked the framework of our trip (flights and lodging). The plan was to fly into Milan and then travel to Varenna on Lake Como, Cinque Terre, Florence, Rome, and finally Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, and then fly home from Naples.
As a novice world traveler, I was a bit overwhelmed with making these arrangements and was at a loss on how to travel while in Italy and maximize what we saw while at each of these locations. Enter Elisabeth, owner and founder of Italy Hotline, who came recommended by a family member. After perusing the Italy Hotline website, I picked out several tours that I thought would be fun and informative. Since we were travelling in the summer at the height of tourist season, these tours had the added benefit of
1) Skip-the-line reserve entry tickets to popular attractions (e.g. Ufizzi Gallery in Florence, Colosseum in Rome).
2) Providing private transportation into the surrounding countryside (e.g. Tuscany, Amalfi Coast). This was especially important as it would have been hair-raising to drive oneself in some of these places, not to mention attempting to park and walk substantial distances in the heat of the day)
Elisabeth via detailed questions via email, arranged everything. We were either picked up at our accommodations or given explicit directions and times on where and when to meet (including pictures of the guide and meeting place).
All our guides were exceptional. They were all very personable, experts in their knowledge of their particular area, and quite adroit at navigating the crowds and congested roads. In Florence, where we did one half-day tour and one full day excursion into the Tuscany countryside, Elisabeth arranged for us to have the same guide which was very nice. You were also able to cater the tour to your own personal preferences which we did on a full day Amalfi Coast tour. The flexibility was much appreciated. By the end of each day’s tour we felt like we had learned so much and also made a great new friend. Here’s a big shout out to Marco (Florence), Illaria (Rome), and another Marco (Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast). Thank you all for adding so much to our vacation.
Elisabeth also provided much expertise in helping us navigate the train system and figuring out to get between our various destinations. Being new to foreign travel we also opted to treat ourselves to some private transfers. So, for example, when we arrived at the Milan airport, instead of trying to figure out how to take three different trains and then a bus to our first destination while jet-lagged, we were met by a friendly driver who took us directly to our first destination. This greatly reduced the stress upon arrival. We also used a private transfer on two other occasions to treat ourselves to a hassle-free ride from Cinque Terre to Florence, and to make sure we got to the airport upon our departure from Naples. Again, all the drivers were wonderful. Thanks to Adrian (Milan Airport to Varenna), Diego (Cinque Terre to Florence), and Gaetano (Sorrento to Naples Airport). You all made the travelling so pleasant!
Making all these arrangements was very simple with Elisabeth’s expert help. Prior to leaving on our trip we had a detailed itinerary of all tours and transfers with names, phone, numbers, descriptions, and any other information (such as tipping suggestions) to ensure everything went smoothly. Having just returned from this trip, I can attest that all these plans were executed flawlessly and with such professionalism. I can honestly say, that everything we did with Italy Hotline exceeded my expectations. Elisabeth, also went the extra mile and checked in with us throughout our trip to make sure everything was OK. We felt like we were in good hands.
In summary, I would like to say that Italy Hotline under Elisabeth’s expert communication skills and knowledge, added immensely to the enjoyment of our vacation. While not inexpensive, I felt that this investment was VERY worthwhile and I would do it again in the future if we are so lucky to return to Italy.

Hello! We booked a standard queen room for our upcoming visit in May 2015. Everything about the hotel sounds lovely, but I'd like to know about what we can realistically expect about the size of the room. We don't need a fancy room or canal views, but I'd like to know what we should expect so we aren't disappointed.
