Did you know that cooking in Italy depends on getting three things right: cooking fresh, cooking regionally & cooking locally. While regionally & locally might sound the same, chef Andrea explains they’re not. Within regions there are local variations depending on traditions & availability of ingredients. This was one of the dozen or more important lessons taken from a delightful evening with Andrea in his comfortable & lively kitchen & dining room in Trastevere, the foodie & hospo hotspot on the west back of the Tiber River. During a couple of hours in the kitchen Andrea takes his class (we were just eight) through the basics of classic Roman food - artichokes, bruschettas, fresh pasta making, a tomato based sauce, and a chocolate lava cake. It was fun & instructive. Andrea was a good teacher - not tolerating nonsense but indulging naivety. Then we went to the dining room to enjoy the fruits of our labour. What a night. Can’t recommend it too highly. Take you’re friends if you’re in Rome in a group, you’ll take an extra suitcase of memories home.

Last week we had the pleasure of taking a course with chef Andrea, we had a great time! I was with my family and from the youngest to the oldest we all enjoyed it! He accompanied us in the preparation of the dishes, giving us excellent advice along the way. The meal at the end was great, one of the best we've had!! You can tell the chef loves teaching Italian cuisine and culture. I highly recommend this class. Thank you Chef, see you soon!!!

Our group loved this class. It was the best meal we had in Rome. Chef Andrea is fun and really knowledgeable. He will also give you a some history about the food you will be preparing. The class lasts about 4+ hours. We prepared a full course meal. It was my THIRD time taking this class and the third time that it was my best meal. I highly recommend Cooking Classes In Rome with chef Andrea!

After reading all the great reviews, I wanted to experience this cooking class and it did not disappoint. The process to book was simple and straightforward. At the class, Andrea greeted us and before jumping in the kitchen we all chatted about our knowledge of Italian cuisine, then off to cook. The meal created was delicious and I feel comfortable that I would be able to recreate the dishes in my home kitchen. We had a nice group of people in the class where we chatted throughout the meal of our travels, food and life. After we finished eating, Andrea came out and chatted for a few. We wrapped up the class with some good laughs and full bellies. I would most definitely recommend this cooking class!

Judging by the excellent reviews from others, I think we must have hit a bad day as we were left disappointed by our experience. Given that there were only two of us, I would have expected Andrea to have spent some time getting to know us a little and understanding our abilities before starting. Instead he marched us through the processes appearing to be most concerned with getting them done and cleared up.
It all felt very rushed, impersonal and rather uncomfortable when we sat down to eat and he was still crashing around the kitchen clearing up. Not good value for money and unfortunately I would not recommend it.

Cooking class with Chef Andrea was wonderful. We prepared a lovely meal and Andrea was most welcoming and helpful. We highly recommend you visit to learn authentic Roman cooking. Thank you Andrea!

We did this class in Jan and somehow forgot to write a review - sorry!
We prepared 3 abundant courses and were very impressed with how good the food, which highlighted fresh Roman ingredients, we made was. We spoke with Chef Andrea for 4-5 hours and had a wonderful time, and picked up a few new techniques. We have made each one of the dishes several times since returining home. I remembered to write this because i'm making one right now! Highly reccomend!

Last year my husband and I took this cooking class with Andrea Consoli and thought it was so great that this year we brought our entire (8) family back to experience it as well. It is a great family activity, which also teaches the essence and philosophy of Italian cooking. I’ve taken cooking classes all over the world and so far Chef Andrea has been the best.

One of our favorite experiences in Rome. Andrea was great at teaching some of the tricks you would see in a recipe. We had an amazing group of strangers and we all just clicked. The food and wine pairings were everything you could hope for. Highly recommend!

TLDR: This class was our family’s favorite experience in Rome and I can’t recommend it enough. 100/10 stars!!!
When traveling with a large family, it is hard to find activities that everyone enjoys. If you are looking for something for everyone, I highly, highly recommend taking a class with Andrea. I literally can’t say enough good things about this experience, but I’m going to try to mention everything. To start, the location is so cozy and warm; it felt like walking in to someone’s home. When we got in, my family was trying to be quiet because it felt like such a chill space, but Andrea came over and got everyone laughing and talking until we were as loud as we normally are when eating at home with the whole family.
Only half of our group had any real experience cooking but Andrea was so great at keeping everyone involved and having fun the whole time. It was very entertaining watching my brothers try to clean fresh spinach and whip egg whites when all they usually do at home is boil water. I try to take a cooking class whenever I travel and this one felt the least like a traditional class. It was more like having an expert guide you in creating delicious food while offering tips and tricks than standing around following a written recipe. We also got written recipes to use at home after the class.
This is a great class if your group has food restrictions; half our group is vegetarian and some have nut allergies. Andrea was super accommodating with our food restrictions, and we still ended up with incredibly authentic, seasonal food that everyone could enjoy. Dinner itself was a lot of fun, particularly with what felt like never ending wine pairings. After dinner, we tried the homemade limoncello and ended up coming home with several bottles and homemade jams to enjoy for new years. Andrea also wrote out recommendations for restaurants and markets to try throughout Rome during our stay. I will definitely be back if I ever return to Rome.

What specifically was the name of the class. There are too many on trip advisor and I really want to make sure we get a class with cooking lessons, wine pairings and hopefully some Tiramisu with Chef Andrea Consoli. Apparently he gets 5+ stars! We will be there over Christmas 2019.

They do take requests, but I would stick to what they have planned as then the menu is being planned based on the ingredients of the season and you will get the most authentic experience. And also to use the ingredients that are in season and therefore the best. They are professionals so trust on what they know would be my recommendation.
