Arianna really made our visit! She gave us so much more information than we expected. We will advise all of our friends to start their stay in Rome this way.

We were introduced to Katie and team through a mutual friend. They were so helpful and organized which made us feel at ease going into our trip (first timers in Italy). They also provided recommendations for other historical tours beyond their scope of work that were absolutely wonderful.
We did the 3 hour walking tour with Maria in Rome and it was the best food we ate during our stay there. Maria's kindness and expertise made it even more memorable. She was able to customize itinerary on the fly based on what we'd already seen in the days prior. We hit a few spots in Centro Storico and the rest of the time in Trastevere - an adorable, more residential neighborhood.
More Porchetta, per favore!

We did the tour of Prati and Trionfale with Katie's chef/tour guide Arianna! We LOVED Arianna! She is energetic, soooo full of knowledge about the history of Rome and its connections to its food culture. We started with espresso at a wonderful open cafe and headed right over to the largest covered market in Rome. We ate delicious meats, cheeses and traditional Roman-style pizza and desserts! This is a must to see more of the neighborhood, non-touristy vibe of Rome and truly understand the beauty of their food!

Rome might not of been built in a day but you can certainly see a good part of it with Katie! I was traveling solo through Southern Italy to visit where my family is originally from in Melfi, Basilicata. Since I was flying into Rome my father recommended I connect with Katie (and thank God he did!) I took the private Roman Cuisine in Prati & Trionfale Tour with Katie; it was hands down the highlight of my time in Rome. Katie Parla is extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, and personable. Not only did I learn about and eat a lot of delicious food but Katie took the extra time to give me some wonderful pit stop suggestions on my way to Melfi. I would highly recommend a tour with Katie or any of her wonderful guides to any of my family, friends, or clients traveling to Rome!

We did the Centro Storico tour with Adrianna. She was a great guide offering us a lot of details on the history of Rome and how food intersects with the city. I would 100% recommend a food tour!

Our tour with Arianna was amazing! It was one of favorite experiences in Rome by far. We want to book all the tours next time!!!!!

We had a food tour with Katie in Venice. It was a real treat to have someone with her knowledge tell us about Italian food and culture...the only downfall was our only option was at 9:30 in the morning which was quite early to be eating and drinking some of the food (fish, wine etc)..If it had been lunch time I would have gotten more out of it...otherwise she is very delightful and full of knowledge!

Katie knows Rome and food better than anyone. If you want to experience the neighborhoods and the food and history of each Katie is the one. This was our 2nd Katie tour and we will be back. And her cookbooks are great and we love them as fists to our friends.

We took a tour with Katie and even our non foodie guest said it was the best part of her trip. She’s like an encyclopedia to Rome and everything Roman. Let’s say if I’m ever going back to Rome I’ll check her availability before booking my ticket!
We got to buy the best olive oil and had the most amazing gelato ever.
I also took a second tour with Maria and got to see the market, The Vatican grounds and try Boncis bakery which I’m still dreaming about.
We came back and all purchased her book.

My husband and I spent three weeks in Rome last month. We love the city, and it has long been our desire to spend more time there to soak in its history, its mood, it’s light, its food, its innate layering of past and present. Katie Parla added immeasurably to our time there. Our tour combined some archaeology with some culinary and cultural history, and it was a highlight of our trip. She is deeply knowledgeable, tireless, and completely delightful. If you are lucky enough to book a tour with her, know that it will enhance your time Rome.

We paid €250 for a 3 hour food tour. It was a private tour, with just our group. Other tours could vary. It wasn't with Katie, but a colleague, as she was out of the country.

Hi Katie! I know that to guide in Rome there is a really hard exam to pass and that it is compulsory to own an official license to guide in Rome. Are you an official tour guide of Rome? I know that it is illegal taking tourist around without that license… and that in most sites (Colosseum, Vatican, etc) you need to show your license, is that right?
I didn’t see you in the official list of tour guides of Rome (which is edited by the Province of Rome).
Are you a licensed tour guide? or not?
