Not open. I saw a lot of review saying it was not.
I came on a Wednesday morning and the guard told me “you must come during opening hours” and I replied that it was. He answered me “then it’s closed today too”.

Il museo è aperto solo tre mattine la settimana, lunedì, mercoledì e venerdì. Sarebbe interessantissimo se solo fosse più curata l'esposizione e la grafica esplicativa. La prima sala, dove sono esposte tavole anatomiche ottocentesche l' abbiamo vista di sfuggita perché erano in corso le discussioni di tesi di laurea e ci sentivamo un po' intrusi. Le sale superiori avrebbero molto da raccontare sull'evoluzione dell'arte sanitaria, ma ahimé, sembrano completamente abbandonate... vecchi scaffali e librerie vetuste, polverose, ricche di strumentario chirurgico di ogni secolo senza alcuna spiegazione... vecchi cartellini di dimensioni microscopiche scritti a mano più di 50 anni fa per lo più illeggibili.... manca proprio la capacità di esporre e rendere partecipi i visitatori. Davvero un peccato perché avrei passato un giorno intero lì dentro, ma non così. Da un museo mi aspetto di apprendere cose nuove, mi aspetto audiovisivi, grafiche esplicative degne del 2021 e non del 1950. Soprattutto mi aspetto di non trovare improbabili lavoratori museali che mi dicono che non posso terminare il giro delle sale perché c'è una studentessa che sta facendo ricerche... e solo grazie al custode abbiamo potuto terminare la visita del museo. Soddisfatta di averlo visitato, ma spero di tornarci e trovarlo finalmente degno di essere definito museo

Sebbene sia stato gestito in passato al limite delle possibilità, questo museo narra la storia delle tecniche sanitarie. Come si insegnava la Medicina? Come si studiava l'anatomia umana? Quali strumenti si usavano? In quali epoche? C'è una collezione di cere anatomiche usate ai primi del Novecento per comprendere il corpo umano e le sue strutture. C'è la ricostruzione fedele di una farmacia alchemica del Seicento, con annesso retrobottega dove si preparava la teriaca, una panacea per tutti i mali. E' un fantastico viaggio nel tempo.

Le musée est fermé. Et semble en travaux. Nous n'avons trouvé aucune sonette comme dit dans un précédent commentaire mais rien ne mentionnait "musée".
Le personnel de l'hôpital m'a dit qu'il ne savait pas si il était ouvert et un vigile m'a dit qu'il était fermé. De plus le téléphone ne fonctionne pas.

Dopo essermi informata da più fonti e sul posto, posso confermare l'impossibilità di una visita. Per ora è chiuso e non sono riuscita a capire se per mancanza di personale o lavori in corso; tutto sembra fermo, immobile, ho suonato e non ho mai ricevuto risposta (almeno in tre giorni diversi ed orari vari)

I was really excited to visit this museum. I knew the opening hours were supposed to be limited to Mon, Wed, Fri from 10-12, and that it could be tricky to find in the Hospitale Santu Spiritu complex. I found it no problem but it wasn't open. A passerby told me it is "never, never"open, but since I don't speak the language well I couldn't any more information. There are lots of telephone #s on the web for this museum; one rings and no one answers, the rest are wrong numbers. The email address I found online bounced back. A Roman I met said that he heard a few months ago they were doing renovations, and maybe it was closed for that.

В аналогичном музее я была в Болонье. В римском музее анатомическая экспозиция гораздо скромнее. Фотографировать в подобных музеях обычно не разрешают, оно и правильно – не совсем это уместно и этично. Заинтересовали большой набор исторических медицинских инструментов и старинная аптека, которая напомнила алхимическую лабораторию.

Музей, конечно, специфический, рассчитанный скорее на специалистов в биологии, фармакологии, медицине и ее истории. Экспозиция вызывает некоторый интерес, но точно не для широкого круга посетителей. Музей расположен на набережной Тибра, недалеко от Ватикана и Замка Святого Ангела.

Непопулярный музей у туристов, даже сайт не сделан на английском, а жаль. Очень хорошая коллекция. Впечатлила старинная аптека и древние медицинские инструменты и множество заспиртованных экспонатов. Студентам-медикам будет довольно интересно посетить.

My husband and I visited this museum on a second trip to Rome. I had read about it and since we both work in health care, we were both very excited to visit this museum with so many fabulous relics. Figuring out how to access the museum proved a bit tricky since it was hard to find much in english and some of the information was conflicting regarding open hours and need for reservations. Bottom line, you do not need a reservation if you visit on Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 10-12. They were also closed the month of august i believe. It is located in the complex of the Santo Spirito hospital. When we arrived about 10, the main entrance was closed so we wandered around a corner and almost ended up in a clinic. We saw a door with a doorbell marking the museum so we rang it--someone answered and let us in. The woman that showed us a bit of the museum only spoke italian but she was so very kind in trying to explain things to us. We do know some spanish and a lot of medical terms were similar so we felt we understood a fair amount of what she was trying to convey. They have absolutely fascinating specimens of conjoined twins, anencephalic newborns and a large selection of surgical instruments. There is a recreated pharmacy and laboratory as well as medieval examination tables.
We were the only visitors that day so far and it was just delightful! Highly recommend for physicians, nurses, etc.
We did pay an admission fee of 7 euros or so but it was completely worth it!
