Went on tour to cheese and balsamic vinegar sites only, and then to lunch. The tours of each were very interesting, and of course we really enjoyed the tastings afterwards! Camilla was a very good guide. The lunch afterwards at Restaurant Ponte Rosso in Monteveglio was, of course, delicious. There is no menu, the chef cooks what he wants to that day. We had a meal of tortelloni filled with ricotta topped with artichokes and coconut, tortellini filled with meat topped with strawberry sauce and ground coffee beans, risotto with mushrooms and pheasant, and veal with Gorgonzola, bananas, and port wine. Our favorite pasta was the first; the one with the strawberry sauce was unusual and interesting. The veal was great.
The one negative was a lot of time was spent in the car travelling to the places (unavoidable if you want to go to the sources, but should be taken into account).

Nicola was fantastic throughout the whole process. My other half is Italian and as such, we wanted to adapt the tour to suit us - nothing was too much trouble. The day itself was fab. From cheese to balsamic, ham to wine and a top notch lunch in the middle. We would never have found this small, individual producers without Nicola's knowledge. Just perfect. Friendly, welcoming and built around us. Treat yourself and get father afield than just Bologna city.

My family of 6 adults thoroughly enjoyed this tour! We started with the cheese factory visit. It was amazing to see the whole process from start to finish. The cheesemakers were so friendly and hardworking. The next stop was the balsamic vinegar. The tasting was excellent and the tour was very informative. We bought several bottles to take home! Lunch was fabulous and we got to meet the chef. The food was delicious! Last stop was wine tasting at a local vineyard. The owner was so much fun and we enjoyed several different wines and learned about the different ways they are made from the same grapes. Our guide Camilla was excellent and knew so much about everything we did. She was easy to talk to and made our tour absolutely perfect. I would recommend this private tour to anyone wanting to see the beautiful city of Bologna.

We sent in our request for the wine, cheese and balsamic tour very late in the day. With hardly a half-day's notice, a tour was efficiently organised for early the next morning! Our driver Nicola was very patient and pleasant and we enjoyed his company. We would like to make a special mention of our guide Marika. She was great to talk to and knew SO much about.. Well, everything! She was very well-informed and expertly fielded our endless barrage of questions.
I highly recommend this tour. It is worth every penny :)

We felt as if we were being taken around by friends, rather than doing a tour. Coming from Switzerland, both cheese and wine making were not entirely new to us and yet, seeing the special process for the Parmigiano Regiano and the local Bolognese wine gave us a whole new understanding of these products. And the Aceto Balsamico Traditionale: Amazing, the amount of love and knowledge that goes into the product.
If you are even remotely interested in food, take this tour!

Nicola was the first person I contacted when my wife and I decided to go back to Italy this summer.
Last year we had a great time with Nicola. We visited wine, Parmesan, prosciutto and Balsamic producers in Modena. It was the highlight of our trip.
This year was just as good! Nicola took us on two tours. One day he took us to Amerigo1934 for a cooking class followed by a truffle hunt nearby and then back to Amerigo for the most memorable dinner of our trip. The next day he took us to Antica corte pallavicina to taste cullatelo and Opera 02 to taste Lambrusco and Balsamico. Nicola also helped us with our transfers to and from Bologna.
We had an excellent time. We learned so much and made some good friends along the way.
Nicola will be the first person I contact when we return to the region of Emilia Romana.

A perfect day touring a medium size producer of Parmeggian Reggiano cheese, a family producer of Balsamic "vinegar" and a very nice wine tasting at a local vineyard.
This is a private tour. Five of us were driven in a comfortable car. The tour was very well run, they met us on time, the guide was very knowledgeable, personable, and a fluent English speaker.
I would strongly recommend that you say yes to the option of having a traditional emilian lunch. It was delicious and well worth the cost. We were surprised and delighted in how good the lunch was and at a lovely traditional restaurant.

We booked a gastro-tour with Nicola, during which we visited artisanal producers of parmeggiano reggiano, traditional balsamic vinegar, and a winery. Nicola was very friendly and helpful from the start, with the communication and planning, all the way throughout the actual visit.
The tour itself was amazing and very interesting. What impressed me was the love and passion that each producer has for their respective product. Because the tours are private and the focus here is more about about the contact with the local people and their culture, we visited relatively small manufacturers. No large groups, no mass production, just true authentic delicious Emilian fare, made by real people who were more than happy to show their trade to us.
Needless to say, we had generous tastings at each producer, and were shown around and we saw how the products are made. If at some point during the planning process you are asked whether you want to include a typical emilian lunch, do not even think about it, just say YES!! Especially if you are a foodie or love truly good food. This lunch will be the best food you will ever eat in this part of the world, and was an experience in itself. At the end of the day we returned back to the city with a food coma (the good type) and with lots of wonderful memories.
The tours this company offers are all private and customisable. In fact, it is more a question of sending over your requests and wishes, and Nicola and his team will suggest an itinerary for you. Highly recommended!

Nicola and Francesca picked us up at our hotel and drove us to a parmesan cheese producer as well as a balsamic vinegar maker. Seeing the process, the time and passion of the people involved was fascinating and enlightening. Each host was very gracious and we truly appreciated the time they took with us. We would definitely recommend taking this tour. The next time we go to Italy, we will have to take the prosciutto and Ferrari tours. Nicola was very accommodating to our needs.

Nicola picked the two of us up at our hotel early in the morning. We got to visit actual sites where parmesan reggiano, traditional balsamic vinegar, wine and proscuitto were made. The people were all delightful and so friendly. We also had time for a lovely lunch. What a wonderful day. Nicola was the best tour guide and translated for us. This tour is worth every penny!
