This basilica, which is located near the cathedral and which has a similar exterior appearance, is baroque inside with a splendid organ on the epistle side. You can also admire a beautiful porticoed patio, which is accessed from inside the temple.

It represents one of the most interesting religious buildings in the city which, in its first construction, dates back to the century. IV. Today's church presents itself more or less in the features of the century. XI when, following the damage caused by various barbarian invasions, it was rebuilt. The church also witnessed important historical events, a small plaque recalls that here the Lombard League promised Frederick Barbarossa the peace sanctioned in Constance. The portal of Paradise and the majestic octagonal tower visible from the outside are beautiful. Unfortunately I couldn't see the inside because it was closed on the day of the visit.

A beautiful church located 15 minutes walk from Piacenza Station and 5 minutes walk from Cavalli Square in the center. The beauty of the ceiling painting of this church, which enshrines the relics of a saint, is eye-catching and naturally calms the heart. An elaborate pipe organ, an octagonal spire, a stone facade with an impressive rose window, and a spacious square.

It is one of the most interesting and complex churches in the city both from an architectural and decorative point of view. It is an example of Romanesque architecture characterized by a large octagonal tower, to the side, however, there is a late fifteenth-century cloister. It was built at the behest of San Vittore, the first bishop of the city around 350 and was dedicated to Sant'Antonino, a martyr killed near Travo, in Val Trebbia, who later became the patron saint of Piacenza.
The church was damaged several times by barbarian incursions and consequently remodeled. The building, as it appears today, dates back to the 11th century according to the wishes of Bishop Sigifredo. subsequently the north side was enriched by the decoration of the marble portal with 12th century sculptures, to attest to the connection with the Via Francigena and the opening towards the city.
The Basilica of Sant'Antonino is undoubtedly one of the most interesting churches in the city from a historical, artistic and architectural point of view. Outstanding for its structure and decoration, it welcomed the delegates of the Lombard League and Frederick Barbarossa for the preliminaries of the Peace of Constance (1183).
The construction of the first church, dedicated to the martyr Antoninus killed near Travo in Val Trebbia who became the patron saint of the city, was commissioned in the 4th century by San Vittore, the first bishop of Piacenza.

Valuable example of Romanesque style with a beautiful octagonal bell tower, the interior partially frescoed in the 17th century... absolutely worth a visit.
