Posto incredibile... Consiglio ti visitarlo almeno una volta per darsi l'opportunità di fare un viaggio davvero introspettivo.
Tutto nella quiete e nel silenzio.
A me personalmente ha lasciato tanto e spero di rivisitarlo presto... è talmente grande che non ero riuscita a vederlo tutto.
Sicuramente si potrebbe fare qualcosa in più per quanto riguarda la manutenzione perché è un vero e proprio museo a cielo aperto da salvaguardare!

Luogo suggestivo, monumenti meravigliosi, potenzialmente uno dei luoghi più belli del mondo, ma in stato di abbandono totale, zero manutenzione, alcune statue cadono a pezzi, erbacce, incuria e sporcizia.
Pantheon chiuso, non visitabile.
All'entrata c'è un piccolo punto informativo e la signora molto preparata e gentile, ci ha indicato su mappa i monumenti imperdibili, ci ha regalato curiosità e informazioni architettoniche gradite.

Andateci solo se avete tempo da perdere, grande delusione, un cimitero immenso tenuto malissimo. L incuria e il degrado sono molto visibili, andrebbe pulito e restaurato soprattutto in alcuni punti. Siamo andati a rendere omaggio a De Andrè ma poco dopo siamo andate via.

This is an amazing place to experience the reverence that Italians have for their dead family members. It also is a display of how much money there was in Genova during its prime days. In the same way that the wealthy built large homes to display wealth, they also built amazing mausoleums and statuary.

In visita a Genova, non poteva mancare questa tappa importante e lo consiglio vivamente. La visita occuperà' almeno un paio d'ore ma ne vale la pena. Purtroppo dò cinque stelle al monumento ma uno a chi dovrebbe preservare questo luogo affascinante.polvere e sporco dappertutto ,indicazioni mancanti, incuria e abbandono.Già dalla portineria si capisce lo stato in cui versa il cimitero : scarse o nulle informazioni, nessun punto comunicazioni o altro e brochure finite (da chissà quanto tempo...) e ,per fortuna, recuperata una in altra lingua.Per il cimitero un unico giudizio : affascinante e emozionante e sculture che colpiscono e a volte commuovono.Spiace per lo stato di abbandono ma spero che , se dato in gestione a qualche associazione culturale o giovanile, possa rinascere e ottenere il valore che merita.

Amazing experience! Must visit!
I walked in awe of the beauty and authority to families buried in there. Cemetery is usually not on the top of tourists place, there are not many people. But this is basically a work of art. Sculptures are alive.

Ein sehr großer und eindrucksvoller Friedhof mit unzähligen Statuen und Grabstätten. Morbider Charme, Ruhe und Eleganz. Nicht nur Fans von Joy Division kommen hier auf ihre Kosten. Unbedingt mehrere Stunden einplanen!

Luogo meraviglioso, monumenti meravigliosi, storia con la S maiuscola, è sicuramente stato, e potenzialmente è, uno dei luoghi più belli del mondo; è per questo che adesso si merita una stella. Erbacce, zero manutenzione, anche quella elementare da custode, incuria e sporcizia. Anche solo una semplice ramazzata. I bagni sono l'emblema dello stato del luogo. Se i genovesi sepolti nelle splendide tombe risorgessero, passerebbero a fil di spada gli indegni curatori di tale meraviglia.

Hello, if you reach Brignole Station in Genoa, there is a bus depot just across the road. Take the Number 14 Bus, which will drop you right outside the Cemetery in about 15 mins(if unsure, where to get off, ook out for the florist display on the left hand side, outside the Cemetery gates. Lots of flowers are sold for locals to pay their red to the dead) I hope you find it!

Hello I see that bus 14 stops jusr underneath the cemetary and it looks like yowhich is the best entrance to start at or can you only enter at a main entrance areau can change to another bus that goes around the area of the cemetary. Can I change from one bua to another with the 100 minute ticket? And

1. What is the most direct route from Milan to the Cimterio Monumental di Staglieno?
2. Do I just take the train from Milan to Genoa (1 hr.30min. each way) and then take the bus to the cemetery?
3. How far is the bus from the train station, Genoa Piazza Principe?
4. How long is the bus ride each way?
5. How frequently does the bus leave and return to the Genoa train station?
6. The site notes that the cemetery is open 7 days a week from 7:30AM to 5:00PM everyday. Are these times still accurate?
7. Is there a cost to visit the cemetery?

there are frequent direct buses from both main Genoa train stations: in particular #34 from Genova piazza Principe. Should be about 25 minutes. opening hours are those mentionned: visitors are admitted until 16:30.

Ciao giacomoji, c'e' un chiosco che funge da bar nel piazzale dell'ingresso, proprio di fronte ai fioristi; c'è un altro bar nella via Bobbio (a sinistra del piazzale); oppure, proseguendo nella via principale (Via Piacenza, che costeggia il torrente Bisagno), 150 metri dopo il cimitero ci sono due ristoranti.

From the above it looks like I should get either a 13, 14, 34 or 48 Linea Bus to get to Staglieno Cemetery, can anyone advise if I can get this from the Piazza Centrale rail station?
