In a residential building you can visit (for free! Donations accepted) the huge appartment of a rich "bourgeoise" family who donated it to the city of Milan.
Plenty of art, paintings, sculptures, furniture ... in this 100 years old place. It's very interesting but reminds of an unorganized "bric-a-brac" collection inspired by personal taste.
My "coup de coeur" was the bathroom, really looked authentic, back in time.
Very friendly staff, the volunteers can give you information/details.

Part of the precious Milanese house museums, this bourgeois apartment is a treasure chest of art and treasures collected over time by these cultured and far-sighted spouses. Needed, in my opinion, a guide in order to fully appreciate the artistic richness (I have been there with MilanoGuida).

Beautiful visit to this home of the great Lombard bourgeoisie of the 1920s, designed by Piero Portaluppi, which brings together the largest private art collection in the city of Milan. Free entry.

We visited this apartment convinced that we could appreciate some "treasures".
Classic home of the bourgeoisie of the last century.
Many paintings of dubious taste hanging on the walls without the slightest explanation.
We appreciated the few pieces of furniture that furnished the house.
Calling it a museum is an understatement.

A beautiful residence from the 1930s preserved with the original furnishings and architecture. Inside a collection of paintings from the 1930s to the 1950s collected by the owners. Free entry, also open on Sundays

A TRUE JEWEL of 20th century arts, absolutely worth visiting! A commendation and thanks to the TCI volunteers who allow the visit: they are kind, prepared, never intrusive.
However, it is SHAMEFUL that the MUNICIPALITY of Milan, delegating the possibility of enjoying the artistic heritage only to volunteers, does not even think of attaching short captions to the works. The treatment reserved by our institutions for art is inconceivable. Lack of respect for citizens and culture.

The house of the Boschi-Di Stefano couple is truly interesting, two art collectors who have collected various works by twentieth-century artists. Now this house museum has become the property of the Municipality of Milan
At the entrance you are warmly welcomed by T.C.I volunteers who tell the story of this museum. entry is free.
The works are truly remarkable and cover a period from the 1900s onwards.
To be seen!!!

One of the 4 museum houses in the Milanese circuit is certainly worth a visit: the building can be admired in its unique architecture from the outside, and then continues inside with the internal stairs, internal doors and bay windows.
There are many, many paintings on display: it is not clear why, as was done for the furnishings, the chandeliers and the sculptures, there are no captions that can explain the exhibitions in the various rooms of the paintings. Not everyone knows the numerous artists of the twentieth century and even just displaying small explanatory panels would be enough.
The initiative of allowing free entry and a good welcome from the TCI volunteers is valuable.

An absolute beautiful art filled , once lived in apartment, turned museum. The art is not from artists that non art lovers would know but non the less quality pieces. It’s a great, interesting and FREE way to spend 20-30 minutes.

What a beautiful small museum.
Staff super helpful
Housed in a building designed between 1929 and 1931 by Piero Portaluppi, this museum was created by Antonio Boschi and Marieda Di Stefano, a married couple who, from the 1920s onwards spent fifty years putting together what was to become one of Milan's foremost
collections of 20th-century art.
Displayed in a continuous sequence that leaves hardly a free space on the walls of the various rooms are works by artists ranging
from the Futurists to the exponents of so-called Informal Art in the late 1950s. One room is devoted entirely to the Novecento Italiano, with landscapes, still lifes and portrais, while others feature works by Fontana, Sironi, Morandi and De Pisis. The large corner drawing room is given over to artists who lived for a time in Paris, such as De Chirico, Campigli and Savinio. The last room, formerly the master bedroom, is devoted to Informal
Art and ends with two large Achrome works by Piero Manzoni.
